Do you look a mess when you get up in the morning, or are you gorgeous whatever?
 

Many guys will look at their girlfriends and say that they look gorgeous, even when their hair is a mess and they have only just got up.

Most girls would rush into the bathroom, sort their hair out and get ready. Put on make-up, then look in the mirror until they are happy with their appearance and then, they shall accept the word, "gorgeous"

My girlfriend does it before I'm awake ! But even if she doesn't do that I would love her without a doubt, but of course it's strange but we have to accept that. :wink:

The minute I get up I always straighten my hair and put my make up on. I hate looking a mess. My dad's like stop fussing with your hair, your late for school. And I tell him to get lost.

Saying that, most girls don't care.

I see my girlfriend in the morning and I think she looks lovely.

But when she walks into the bathroom and looks in the mirror, she says she's a mess.

I think it depends on how you look? If you are a beautiful girl, then your boyfriend will always say you look gorgeous, no matter what :lovedup:

But if she is not, then a boyfriend might say it anyway, but think to himself, "She could do with a makeover or something?"

If a girl messes up a boys hair at school, in the classroom, he probably would just run his hand and fingers through his hair and straighten himself up slightly.

But would a girl do the same, or want to rush to the girl's toilets and sort themselves out?

I am talking about fashion too.

wearing clothes that haven't been ironed or sticking on a dress quickly, which has some food spilled on it.

being a mess can bother some, but not others?:yuk:

my dad says that all the time... and when were out like ina restaurant i might just like run my fingers through my hair and stuff and he says to me
"Stop that, who do you think you are? Chantelle?" lol

I hate looking a mess.
It makes you feel down but when you think you look good you feel better.

I totally agree about the girlfriend fact ! Mine is beautiful :lovedup: so she's always georgous !
And I'm totally obsessed with my hair, so I can't stand someone touchs it ! I spend 15 minutes to have perfect hair the morning (even the night lol)
And I can't wear something dirty with food on it ! I know I have a big fashion sense lol

My hair is always a terrible mess in the morning, as it's long. That does make a difference, I guess?

If your boyfriend is a "skinhead", then it would be hard to tell.

I think it is more a girl thing than a boy thing?

I know a 15 year old girl who has a brother the same age and she makes a lot of effort with her appearance, but her brother just sticks his clothes on, which are screwed up in a ball on the floor and doesn't even bother combing his hair.

Grabs some dinner money and goes out of the door. But his sister really cares about her appearance and has makeup in her schoolbag, even though the teachers aren't too happy with that.

Girl's notice these things. I can be very lazy in that department sometimes.

I agree, me too, I'm obsessed by my look, nodisharmony you said it's a girly thing to be like that but I don't agree, my girlfriend (:love:) always says I don't need a lot of thing in order to look great but I'm like that, I can't go to the college without being clean, a good mix of clothes etc.
I think you have read what I am in an other thread (about mobile phones) but imagine me being dirty with no fashion sense. People will see me by a different way, they know me like that that's why I am what I am.

I can't really answer that myself to be honest, haha. I don't really do much when I get up but I understand that people need to feel comfortable within themselves in the morning before they expect any compliments at all. :hugesmile:

I don't expect any compliments (even if it's a pleasure), I have to assume my position it's completely different, some people do that only to have some compliments but some don't.
The fact is, I can't work without being comfortable, in good conditions ! It's not only during school it's the same for clubbing or being with your girlfriend.
After it depends about the persons but don't think "fashion obsessed" people do that only in order to get compliments !

Yeah I was browsing through some of the other peoples' comments in this thread and responded to that really!
But I agree that some people just need to feel comfortable in the morning. Not necessarily 'fashion obsessed' though, although you may be. :wink:

Yes I need, even the sunday or when I'm alone at home, and I change my clothes all the time, I have to be always "before the others" or to be the "first to have this or that".

It is nice to get up in your pyjamas and just watch some TV go on the computer and eventually get dressed, if I can be bothered.

But when it is work or any other reason to get out early, then I naturally make the effort.

I know that men do make an effort, but women tend to make more of an effort, I feel.

But does it hurt when your girlfriend or boyfriend says you look like a mess?

How many members here can really say they are so gorgeous, that they look as good in the morning, just as they climb out of bed, than what they look like when they get dressed up and made up?

^ Well that's exactly it, nobody's really going to say, are they? Unless they're like proper narcissistic. I don't think anybody fully thinks of themselves as attractive, whether it be morning or night - they always want to change at least something. And also, a lot of the time even if a person DOES look good in the morning, often they still need to touch up on their hair and the way they look etc. before they feel fully comfortable. I think that just depends on the person. But I do agree that it's more often females!

Nobody can say that naturally ! lol nobody is perfect the morning !
after, it's an other question, after shower and everything, it's not just an effort, it's everyday it's an obsession to be georgous at all the time, I can't help that !
If my girlfriend says I look like a mess, sure it's not good but it's the truth, and I think the chance that she says it are low so I don't worry or care about it !

A good point, Ash.

Nobody really says that they are that perfect.

But getting onto schoolgirls & boys their mums will always notice usually, when their son or daughter has done a rush job to get ready.

Over-sleeping or just messing around instead of getting ready for school would probably make a schoolgirl or boy not bother much? But if they look gorgeous, not many would comment, I think? But if you don't look so gorgeous, then, the slightest breeze which may mess up your hair may be commented on.

I love that, when it is windy as hell and we can all blame the wind, if we didn't manage to tart ourselves up that much :bigsmile:

My mum does tend to notice now you mention it!

When I wake up in the morning though I tend to just... sit there for a while, if that makes sense. I'm not (normally) the sort of person who gets up dead late and rushes around before school. Instead I get up a bit earlier perhaps and get ready at a leisurely pace. :bigsmile:

I spend 30 minutes everymorning in my bathroom ! Maybe more it depends, if it's a "class leaders meeting" so it's more ! I know I'm mad, me and my bathroom ! :laugh2:

30 minutes! :shocked: I'm more like, 2. Basically I spend about 2 minutes quickly in the bathroom, then just sit there on my bed for AGES - doing other stuff as well of course, like messing with my phone, reading random stuff…whilst getting ready (slowly), lol. That part of the morning lasts about 45 minutes! Not even joking. Make sure all my stuff’s sorted. Then spend about another 2 brushing my hair and making sure my face looks OK, lmao. If I have 5 mins or so before leaving I quickly eat something then set off! So it’s not like your regular getting up late and rushing, or getting up earlier and spending time in the bathroom lol – mine’s just a messed up version in the middle!
