to Sarah "Make yourself pretty"

OMG what a twat

Barry. 04-08-2017 09:03 PM

Agreed.

Withano 04-08-2017 09:04 PM

So gross.

Amy Jade 04-08-2017 09:05 PM

I thought he just meant dress up rather than being offensive.

I don't know but she looked fine already.

Dominic 04-08-2017 09:07 PM

He just meant she should dress up and party with them

BBUK-Fan 04-08-2017 09:08 PM

He wasn't being rude. He was saying she should dress up and party with them

MrWong 04-08-2017 09:12 PM

"he wasn't being rude"

Sarah and Amelia's reaction says otherwise.

They overacted.

Firstly he didn't mean anything by it and secondly it's Karthik from the Apprentice so not sure what you were expecting?

Greg! 04-08-2017 09:24 PM

He's a creep

LukeB 04-08-2017 09:25 PM

She didn't need to, she looked great anyway but appearances shouldn't really matter so idk why he thinks they should change.

rusticgal 04-08-2017 09:26 PM

I don't think he meant to be rude...he is just a bit stupid, insensitive and tactless.
He was like it in the Apprentice...he thinks he is clever and full of worldly wisdom..and he isn't.

Everyone is being so extra about this :skull:

Clearly he just thought she should dress up more glam for the party, but he worded it wrongly which is why they got offended.

Pretty much.

It's awkward watching him.

Marsh. 04-08-2017 09:55 PM

It's a phrase meaning to go and get dressed up for a night out or whatever.

I've heard lots of girls say "Just gonna go make myself pretty" (i.e.. Put makeup on). They don't mean they're literally ugly without it. It's a figure of speech.

Locke. 04-08-2017 09:57 PM

Just can't believe he'd be so rude and mean to a beautiful specimen of a female like this, I really hope that Danan and Chad can teach him something about chivalry in there

Sarah and Amelia haven't.

So? Now they've heard it. They should pipe down.

Cherie 04-08-2017 10:02 PM

It was an awkward way of trying to say enjoy yourself..a bit sexist ..she should have told him to have a makeover

My point was, as they are girls, they're around other girls constantly yet that phrase offended them and wasn't just a figure of speech. Their reaction suggest it's not said by lots of girls.

Except it was and is a figure of speech.

They may well have felt offended and took it the wrong way because they themselves haven't heard it but any mature adult would get over it when they had the fact explained to them.

Marsh. 04-08-2017 10:06 PM

God help them if he'd said "Come on darling, put on your dancing shoes!"

She'd have been frothing at the mouth.
