Oh look, another guy pinning the actions of a few people on a whole generation. Next.

Very interesting video. A truly intelligent man with, most importantly, a mind of his own and the strength to voice his opinions. He made some excellent points which certainly gave me food for thought and opened my eyes even more to the climate of 'thinking' occurring in our education system today.

We have somehow enabled the creation of a generation of naive, gullible, entitled, group- thinking people who live in their own 'progressive' little bubbles which is impacting on the freedoms previous generations fought so hard for. To them free-thought that doesn't agree with their thought processes is 'offensive' and should be shut down at all costs.

Higher Education is supposed to give people the tools for free-thought enabling them to challenge dictatorial behaviour, not create it. It seems to be having the opposite effect and taking youngsters back to their school days when everyone has to think the same and peer pressure is the name of the game. Having differing opinions is healthy and is what makes the world go round constantly encouraging people to THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

You need to get your head out of the tabloids and the internet, Brillo; this does not describe the vast majority of people in the "millenials" age range at all, plus you're talking about University age students, so I don't believe you're even talking about Millenials. The age range of Millenials is from roughly 22 - 35. University students are (if fresh from school) 18 - 22, making then Generation Z, not Millenial.

Not that it describes all of or even the majority of Gen Z either.

There are naive, gullible, group-thinking people in all generations. Millenials have a fair bit of it, yes, IMO mainly due to the influence of social media, but it's also rife in Boomers (current age range 53 - 71). The most free-thinking generations are of course GenX and "Xennial" (a crossover generation that encompasses elements of GenX and Millenial). The range that I fall into, obviously :hee:

Also, Brillo... were you aware that Brendan O'Neill is politically pretty far to the left? :omgno: Not Brillo agreeing with a leftie.
