Annoying neighbour puts his bins outside our front gate

On bin men days. Instead of his own gate?

Not sure why he does it but it is very annoying.:fist:

Niamh. 29-08-2017 02:17 PM

Do you move it back? I would

RileyH 29-08-2017 02:18 PM

I'd knock it over

Crimson Dynamo 29-08-2017 02:19 PM

id just move it

RileyH 29-08-2017 02:20 PM

Sometimes my neighbours put their rubbish in our bin so we take it out and spill it all over their front garden

I did, but he moved them back again. So when the bins are emptied, the bin men put HIS emptied bins outside our house, because they think they're ours, and our bins are left down the road...:fist:

I think I need to speak to the bin men.

Tit for tat rarely works with ignorant people.

Did you not say something to them about it?

I will do, but it's hard to catch them as they come at 6am. :D And this has only been happening a couple of months. :)

Crimson Dynamo 29-08-2017 02:31 PM

Maybe he thinks he is doing the binmen a favour?

Tape a big note on their bin saying Please stop putting your bin in front of my gate, thank you x

Josy 29-08-2017 02:34 PM

Are you sure its not the bin men?

The bin men here leave everyone's bins all over the place

Kazanne 29-08-2017 02:42 PM

We live in a secluded place so all our bins are taken down the drive and placed with lots of other bins, we just fetch them back at night, but the binmen do leave them all over the place. Gone are the days they used to fetch them.

you are taking the wrong approach. Simply take his emptied bins and stash them. He will then have to pay for replacements which will ensure he keeps better care of them in the future.

Hubby and neighbour bring both bins back up the drive and put them at the side gates, whichever one of them is handy first.
Have a little polite word with your neighbour, if that doesn't work then deck the beggar:joker:

caprimint 29-08-2017 03:25 PM

You should put all of yours in front of his gate as well, that'd teach him a lesson

Suze 29-08-2017 03:29 PM

My previous neighbour would, because I would leave my bin just inside my front gate, put their McDonalds crap and other fast food rubbish in my bin, so I moved my bin further into my garden before bin day came round and also took out and chucked their rubbish in their garden. If a neighbour now and then asked if they could put some of their rubbish in my bin if their's was full, I might be ok with that, but blatant walking in my garden and making use of my bin, no way at all. If any one puts their full bin in front of my gate, it swiftly gets moved by me, however, the bin men/women think nothing of leaving anyone's bins outside anyones gates once emptied.

I can't stand him. He looks and is as arrogant as Gerry McCann. :fist:

And gone are the days when you could just put black plastic bags out.

I had this exact problem with my neighbours when we were still using black bags. Piled up against the lamppost next to my front garden and when the cats got at the bags - guess whose garden the rubbish would end up on. There were some rows about it. So bl**dy selfish! Thankfully now we have Wheelie bins that has stopped completely.

You need to try the polite approach first I think but if that fails either do the same to them or try calling your local council as I am sure they are not supposed to do that. Everyone is supposed to put their rubbish on the boundaries of their own property, not others.

Well I am of the thinking that if I have to approach someone about not doing something which they shouldn't be doing anyway, then I think I know what response I'd get.

Actually I preferred the black bags. Not so good in your case though.
