Great! Hoping for someone better for the party.

Kez
But hmm, she goes out with an SNP MP, her dad's in the SNP and she has supported some of the SNP's policies so it wouldn't surprise me if she joins them. Here for the drams if she does! |
Forced out by Corbyn's mob apparently, sorry state of affairs

Kezia Dugdale has resigned as leader of Scottish Labour, saying it is time to "pass on the baton" to someone else. The Lothians MSP has previously criticised UK leader Jeremy Corbyn, and has faced criticism from left-wing members of her own party. She insisted she was leaving the party in a much better state than she had found it. But she said a new leader was needed with "fresh energy, drive and a new mandate". Ms Dugdale is the third Scottish Labour leader to have resigned since the 2014 independence referendum, with predecessors Johann Lamont and Jim Murphy both having stood down. She said she wanted to give her successor the "space and time" to prepare for the next Scottish Parliament election in 2021. https://static.independent.co.uk/s3f...ia-dugdale.jpg |

Dugdale rejected the suggestion that she was resigning because she feared being forced out by Corbynites. Asked if she was going before she was pushed, Dugdale replied: I refute that absolutely. What I’m trying to do is something that politicians rarely do, which is to leave with my head held high, without any sort of crisis. She said that, although she spoke out against Jeremy Corbyn at the time of the 2016 leadership contest, she has not criticised him since. They got on well on a personal level, she said, and she said she she would be campaigning for him to be the next prime minister. https://www.theguardian.com/politics...-politics-live |
I like Kezia and she is right, she leaves Scottish Labour a little better than when she took over.
She had issues with Corbyn but overall is far more in agreement with his policies now. However for me,when watching the Holyrood proceedings on TV, she comes across extremely weak against Nicola Sturgeon. She also is annoyingly for me outclassed as to questioning and point making by the Conservative Scottish leader too. She was maybe a good place filler but seems to have few real ideas as to progression for the Labour party. Overshadowed strongly by the other leaders of Parties in Scotland sadly. |
Holyrood :joker:

In other times,Ruth could have been a strong overall UK Conservative leader. I certainly give her that. |
Ruth might be the one Tory I can actually stand but then again, I liked all three main party leaders (her, Nicola and Kez)
|
Whoever they get they better be tough as Ruth and Nicola take no prisoners and are well liked up here
