The Left's shameful reactions tp Hurricaine Harvey

https://www.therebel.media/tiffany_g...ump_re_elected

Pretty sad really! What more can you say!

Underscore 01-09-2017 09:14 AM

Welcome to off season on TiBB

Tbqh you're generalising 'the left'. Yes it's shameful that some are saying that it serves them right for voting Trump but they're forgetting that Houston etc and South Texas voted Democrat in them counties.

The Democrats aren't left wing, trust me.

I can't watch the video right now but can you give me the gist? Is this one persons opinion or what and why does it represent "the left" ?

It's not a very long video but talks about comments made on a well known liberal website called Slate and also comments made on CNN and other major American news sites and social media.

It's not the length of the video, it's the sound I can't have on right now.

So a few people made comments on social media and suddenly that represents anyone left leaning? ok then

No not just Social Media - well known liberal websites.

Smithy 01-09-2017 09:41 AM

Agree with Underscore, total generalisation of the left, can only imagine the amount of threads that could be made like this regarding the right

Kizzy 01-09-2017 09:41 AM

I consider myself left leaning could you explain your interpretation too so I don't have to go to all the trouble of thinking for myself?

Indeed.

It's really why mostly I choose to avoid coming on these threads.
It's always just any even small excuse to try to tarnish ones opinion of the 'left' overall.

It's all just tiresome now and certainly not encouraging any real reasoned debate.

TBH, going by what this topic has turned into, these type of threads just seem like an excuse to bait and cause an argument

Oliver_W 01-09-2017 09:57 AM

Yes, it's disgusting some people say they deserved it for voting Trump, but idiots say idiotic things, who knew!

Crimson Dynamo 01-09-2017 09:59 AM

having watched the video i cant really see much evidence apart from anecdotal and one tweet from Slate

Yes as Houston is a red state you will get young people tweeting "yeah serves them right for voting Trump" but that is just young people for you rather than anything

Social media is rife with awful people with awful opinions, none of them represent me anyway

There is plenty of tarnishing of so-called right opinions, just presenting the other side of that. Is there something wrong with that? Neither encourages any real reasoned debate which I guess was my point.

Scarlett. 01-09-2017 10:10 AM

The left did this, the left did that, rinse and repeat.

Houston is a Democratic county by quite a large margin :conf:

This. I've nothing to add.

Kizzy 01-09-2017 10:26 AM

I watched a bit... holy moly what a pair of clowns, what are they doing using a disaster to run people down for?
Blatant heartless propaganda.

OMG lesbian wants to help animals with her donation ...evil!

Pathetic and truly shameful.

Wiki: The Rebel Media (officially The Rebel News Network Ltd.,[3] stylized as TheREBEL.media, and shortened to The Rebel) is a Canadian, far-right[4][5] online political and social commentary media website founded in February 2015 by the former Sun News Network host Ezra Levant.

You must have been digging deep to of found this one Brillo.

Keyboard warriors are just people who could never say in person what they say online. They represent the Left no more than they represent the Right... they are meaningless.

Crimson Dynamo 01-09-2017 10:50 AM

Well "the left" better get back to their keyboards as Hurricane Irma is heading for the USA and its a cat 3 already (actually it may miss them, dont know yet)

Jesus :joker:

So either a frequent visitor to a far right media site, or just googling "bad things the left wing have done today" I'm not too sure which is worse :hehe:

Niamh. 01-09-2017 10:55 AM

Seriously though I just saw a post on FB about "The Right" giving out about how Obama "was probably playing golf" after Hurricane Katrina and how great Trump is handling this compared to him.............nevermind the fact that Obama wasn't even president then but as a Senator was doing lots of work aiding the victims anyway..........Idiots everywhere on all sides. I'm pretty sure most normal people just sympathize with all those effected

Nope, just googled 'lefts reaction to hurricaine harvey' after a video of the article came up on my news feed and I couldn't copy it across. :hehe:

Unless you have any evidence of me being a far right wing supporter, which I am not, could you refrain from your constant intimations that I am. Isn't there a word for that on here!

The only reason you would Google that is you wanting to bait people into arguments on tibb, and that makes me kinda sad for you.

Also, do you think theres mo evidence that you're right-leaning on your tibb user account? That also makes me kinda sad.

Not deep at all. If you are as media savvy as you imply I'm sure you could quickly check that for yourself.
