Something irrelevant I noticed...

Okay, so remember how Emma and Rylan pick a winner on launch night? Neither of them won because Isabelle was a "late entrant"

However, surely they must've known she would be entering? (Granted she could've been a 2nd chance housemate... :umm2: ) Rylan guessed Katie Price even though she entered over a week later than the rest of the housemates.

I guess what I'm trying to suggest is, 2 years ago, they knew late entrants at launch, but they didn't know them at the start of BB18. I know Rylan and Emma apparently help to choose the lineups (or at least, for CBB, which may explain why Rylan knew Pricey was going in but not Issy/Savannah/the 2nd chancers?) so surely they must've been aware there'd be late entrants? Or was production just messt and decided to throw 2 housemates in because we had 2 walkers and an ejectee up to that point, so it was spontaneous and we were never meant to get late entrants? Surely this reveals something about production? (or my desperate reaches and 3am thoughts?)

They usually have stand-in housemates to replace walkers/ejectees. Chantelle was a stand-in for Big Brother 6, for example. Sometimes stand-ins go into hiding for weeks but don't actually end up entering, so that probably explains this.

Oh I never knew that!

Katie Price must've been a stand-in then, surely? But she said in an interview she was asked to do the summer series, yet Rylan still predicted she'd win? (Unless she was always meant to be a late entrant and this was decided before the series, or they have celebrity stand-ins that they put in in the next series? Or, they just asked her to join CBB15 instead of CBB16 once we had 2 ejectees)

Glenn-C 06-09-2017 03:56 PM

Maybe they did know and it was just that neither of them guessed a late entrant?

MTVN 06-09-2017 04:02 PM

I imagine it's just that sometimes a late entrant is planned before the series starts and sometimes they only decide once the series has started

Take CBB19 as an example, pretty sure Jedward were always going to go in late but they only decided to put Kim, Jessica and Chloe in because the series needed spicing up

Jay28jay2 06-09-2017 04:23 PM

They don't plan the seasons out very well and they just decide things days before it happens like backdoor evictions but they know the schedules. This year they only put Isabelle and the irrels in because of the walkers and ejectees and the lack of housemates would have affected the schedule

RileyH 06-09-2017 04:23 PM

I thought they had a chance to change after newbies came in

I'd agree, but they said "we selected on launch night so we didn't know any late entrants", but surely they would've seen their applications/VTs if they were planned?

The schedule? So they always planned to have like, 5 backdoors? I always thought they just backdoored half the cast in the final 2 weeks because they put too many housemates in :joker: (they managed 18 housemates better than they did 22 this year, and really we only needed Issy/Savannah adding imo? But Suemone was iconic so I'm kinda glad the evictions were a mess this series)

Jedward's entrance was a mess (but it wasn't meant to be :joker:). I wish Jedward went in on launch and Kim/Jessica/Chloe went in on Jedward's day

Pricey wasn't planned at all far in advance, I'm sure I remember her saying that she got the call while she was watching the show

pontyboi 06-09-2017 05:00 PM

Well the housemates picked the new entrants so it's totally different to Katie price who was contracted to go in. I think katie was also due to enter on launch but as we all know she had health issues.

Jack_ 06-09-2017 05:51 PM

With few exceptions this show has no semblance of planning anymore, twists and new housemates are decided on a whim about 24 hours in advance

A far cry from the days where the producers would spend months planning a twist like the Secret Garden or House Next Door

I'm pretty sure they planned for her to be a late entrant. They tend to want their names or the people they hope will mix things up to go in late and make their mark.

Unfortunately for them, they chose the worst possible time for Price to go in. When she was pretty chilled and not fiery at all,

supertv247 06-09-2017 09:34 PM

I don't know about this prediction Rylan made but Pricey wasn't planned for CBB15 as someone said above, she was sat watching the series when she got a call to go in last minute

Marsh. 06-09-2017 09:36 PM

Someone has a name you rude bitch.

Marsh. 06-09-2017 09:36 PM

She must've been planned otherwise why would Rylan write her name?

MTVN 06-09-2017 09:52 PM

Not sure I believe she only got the call once the show had started because she was heavily rumoured in the weeks leading up to that series

And I'm pretty sure at the time didn't the launch clash with something like a family holiday or something, she wouldn't be back in time so had to go in late?

I didn't expect it tbh, because there hadn't been a late entrant in CBB since.. Ivana was it not? I thought they got rid of late entrants in CBB bc of that reason (so they get more of the celebs they're paying for was my logic, but celeb late entrants have become somewhat common since Pricey)

Katie Price and Katie Hopkins in the same house could've been amazing but Pricey was so calm and it was... disappointing? I just found her dull and yeah it's because her tit fell out or something but she would've fit in better against Jarrah in summer

Marsh. 06-09-2017 10:11 PM

Yeah, I imagine somebody like Farrah would've been the type to set Katie off.

Them two in All-Stars could probably tap into Pricey's potential

I never knew she was planned from the start, I always thought they just threw her in because they were losing housemates fast
