TiBB's Top Answers: The Pointless Spinoff [The final results!]

The twist I proposed is thus: the whole point of Top Answers is to follow the crowd and score as many points as possible. With this, the motivation is flipped entirely, and you have to give the most obscure answers that you think no other TiBB Member would think of. If you give an entirely unique - CORRECT - answer to any of Niamh's 15 questions, you'll gain a "0pt".

If you give the same answer as one other member, you'll get "1pt", 2 other members "2pts" and so on.

If you give an incorrect answer, you'll get the maximum points - ie. the total number of players in that round :p

With that in mind, Round 1's Questions are thus:

You'd get the maximum number of points for that question, ie. the total number of players per round.

Right now I've had 9 votes including my own :D A lot of people - as Alf pointed out in his PM to me - are falling foul of the "try and name the MOST obscure person" mindset and as a result a lot of the questions are getting multiple answers for the one that doesn't immediately come to mind :laugh:

But it's a risk - do you go for a really obvious one and hope no one else does, or just go for someone completely random? For the Oscar Winners the latter would seem the best strategy, but when there's as few correct answers as there are for, say, James Bond or the Avengers, it's gonna take some umm-ing and ahh-ing :think: I mixed my answers between the two for this round to see which strategy works best.

Oh, I thought the answers would be based on the answers given in the main Top Answers game.

Hmm :think: that might be a better idea actually but I made the objective of this one clear in the OP :(

Oh wait, my answers were based on this too (i personally think do both? Add the totals from both games... That way you can't strategically beat the game)

So if you give the most obvious answer, you will win, because everyone elase will be trying to avoid giving that answer... :think:... but then multiple people might have that idea so it flips over again... :worry:

The aim of the game is therefore to give the most middle-of-the-road answers possible :joker:.

Pretty much this lol. It totally depends on the question and how many possible answers there are for it.

Personally, I think the OP rules are much better/more fun. :p
