He is right to challenge her on this. All leavers should be challenging her on this. Our so-called democratic voting system is becoming more of a joke by the day.

Underscore 24-09-2017 08:16 AM

Why should remainers challenge her?

Whoops! Was doing two things at once at the time - as you rightly pointed out Leavers should challenge her, not remainers.

People voted for this inept vulture as a PM so I don't think you can pin this failure on democracy really

The alternative was a communist. Vultures are more civilised.

I wouldnt go so far to say Corbyn was a communist - and that's a Lib Dem* saying that.

*a classical, free market variant

Not really the point I'm making, I'll be clearer.

You can't really champion the democratic vote of Brexit by rubbishing the democratic general election.. You either like democracy or you don't.
People voted for Brexit, and people voted for this vulture to do it... The OP only has a problem with one of these thing, their problem probably isn't democracy... or maybe they like to pick and choose when and where it works..

He wants to abort her position as Prime Minister. His heart says yes... But Jesus says nooo.

So you support Islam as a religion, entitled to their views and all that, but mock Mogg's religious views. :suspect:

DemolitionRed 24-09-2017 11:05 AM

In all seriousness though, its time to stop indulging his profile. This is a man who has consistently voted for benefit cuts, more privatization of our NHS and against higher taxes on the wealthy. He's everything we don't want in Britain.

Many would say Corbyn and his hard-left views are everything we don't want in Britain.

No Brillo I think all religion is false and ridiculous and have stated as much many, many times on the forum. However, I don't think people should be vilified, demonised or segregated because of their silly superstitions. Even Mogg. However it has no place in government in any form.

Pretty much my thoughts as to him too.
Just an irrelevance to me he is and I doubt even the Cons would risk him leading them.

He's a homophobe that is anti-women's rights, that should tell you everything you need to know about this cretin.

Completely different situations. Both are entitled to their religion and their opinions regarding it but neither are beyond criticism when they try to use their religion to justify using political power to push an agenda based on discrimination.

Mogg is anti-women's rights and has homophobic views that he tries to justify his political agendas by using his religion. Religion has no place in politics.

The difference between a politician having an agenda based on religion with the power and means to see it through is completely different to an average person of any religion having religious beliefs. It really should be completely obvious and shouldn't have to be explained.

Just because he is anti-abortion doesn't mean he either could or would try to enshrine such views in our laws, not in 2017. Same with homophobia. He is an intelligent man and would know better than to try. He would have to keep the two completely separate.

Seems like a lot of hysterical assumptions are being made here. Has he actually said if he were PM he would stop all abortions or stop gay marriage. This is the West no matter who is in charge. We are not under Sharia law.

Aren't even moderate Muslims anti both those things?

Yes but this discussion isn't about Corbyn, its about Ress Moggs.

OMG I nearly peed myself :joker:

edited to add: Are you a very important chap Arista? I mean, you've made it clear that you know things within the government and secret service that we aren't privy to. Could you be MI5 perhaps? Are you feeding everything we say back to the queen?

Someone who is apparently so devout that they wouldn't be able to see that certain parts of the bible are products of it's time and are no longer applicable in today's world is ill suited to power. Fundamentalist religion has no place in politics and you can't say that his prejudices would not affect his decisions, you can't tell me that he'd put his religion aside and would make decisions that would go against that if he is so devout that he believes in archaic views like that.

Religious fundamentalism has no place in politics.

I like how you are making excuses for him though when, if his religion happened to be islam and he was preaching what he preached as a catholic, you would condemn him without a second thought simply because he'd be a muslim while I'd still condemn him all the same.

You're good at noticing what you want to notice and ignoring what you don't want to notice, aren't you jaxie?

To reiterate, since you ignored it; I *do not* support Islam or any other religion. Shall I put it in my signature to avoid further incorrect "noticing" (I.e. Making stuff up)?
