Super Nintendo Mini (Out today)

http://cdn.images.dailystar.co.uk/dy...ini-988140.jpg

I've bought one today and it is glorious :flutter:

It comes with 21 games and two controllers. Word of advice for anyone that is going to get one, make sure you have a USB plug since, for some reason, it doesn't come with one.

Here are the games that come with it.

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
Final Fantasy III (In actuality it is FFVI but is was marketed as FFIII in the west at the time)
F-Zero
1991 US
Kirby Super Star
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2 (never before been released)
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid
EarthBound
Kirby's Dream Course
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Punch-Out!!

Ugh, such a good purchase tbh :clap1:

I preordered mine ages ago so managed to pick mine up last night :flutter:

It’s beautiful

Oliver_W 30-09-2017 08:58 AM

I didn't even hear about it until all the pre-orders were snapped up :(

Mystic Mock 30-09-2017 10:21 AM

I used to have a few Retro made Consoles like this.

I will have to get it at some point like all of the thousands of other things that I want.

LukeB 30-09-2017 10:34 AM

How much?

I can't get over how delightfully tiny it is.

I believe Nintendo have said that it's not going to be like the situation with the NES mini, They're planning on keeping up with demand this time from the sounds of things, plus they are gonna bring back the NES Mini too.

£80, quite worth it, considering that buying a SNES with all these games would likely set you back a couple of hundred quid considering collector prices.

They'll be back on stock soon, I imagine. Nintendo have learned their lesson with the NES mini, hopefully.

I think that's one of the games that hasn't aged well, sadly

Oh nice, hope so!

I wonder if a mini N64 will be out next!

If I bought a real SNES and the physical copies of the pre-loaded games I'd actually play, it'd probably work out around the same price, but decades old tech would probably not have much life left in them ... that said, carts and cart readers don't really wear out, do they, unlike CDs and lasers?

I already have an IRL SNES with the SNES FF's, Secret of Mana, Zelda, ChronoTrigger etc., plus a RetroPi with every SNES game ever. Ultrageek innitttttt :joker:.

I probably would buy an N64 mini though...

I remember a friend of my mum's gave me Secret of Mana, and I picked up where he left off. He'd named the characters Neil, Turd, and Bitch. In school when writing stories or whatever I'd innocently use those names, and eventually I was sent a letter home...

It is fun though. I remember naming Rinoa's dog (FF8) "arse", just so that her limit breaks would be "arse rush" and "arse cannon". Good times :flutter:.
