Who’s watching Liar on STV (or ITV) on Monday nights?

RileyH 14-10-2017 08:46 PM

Marsh. 14-10-2017 09:10 PM

Caught up the last few days. I'm on episode 3.

I'm really enjoying it. Lots of twists and turns.

Turned out to be an amazing series.
Here for someone getting their come uppance big time on Monday night.

I’m hoping for some twist that sees both of them get punished as Andrew and Laura are both very unlikeable characters.

Laura isn't particularly nice, but she is suffering big time, not only raped but her sister was having it away with her fella.:hehe:

Exactly

The last half hour of episode 5 I was watching through my fingers

Marsh. 15-10-2017 03:20 AM

What happened to that detective was genuinely disturbing. And to be pregnant too. :worry:

My theory at the start was that someone entered her apartment after Andrew left and raped her. The ex boyfriend or the chatty cab driver.

Then it switched to the detective woman's partner. That actor is too well known to take a meaningless role as a sidekick with so little screen time. So I'm still expecting some 11th hour twist where he helps Andrew to cover his tracks, or it turns out he was the one to rape his partner and not Andrew at all.

Marsh. 15-10-2017 03:55 AM

Just read that this has got a second series. :umm2: Wish I hadn't bothered now.

Sick of all the dramas clearly designed as one offs dragged out longer than necessary and trying to do a "Broadchurch", which itself barely had enough to sustain more than the one series.

Doctor Foster is another, just focus on wrapping up the story FGS.

Interesting… :hehe:
I think there will be a death on tomorrow’s finale though.

If they were to do a second series, it wouldn’t be as gripping as this one as we would kind of know what to expect.

reece(: 15-10-2017 01:38 PM

A 2nd series with the same characters? :skull:

Marsh. 15-10-2017 02:16 PM

Yeah I wouldn't mind it bring an anthology series if the writer has a story with two sides of a crime.

But Joanne Froggatt seemed to suggest a second series for this specific story and she would be in it.

I would prefer that over a Series 2 with different chararcters tbh

Marsh. 15-10-2017 06:38 PM

It really would go into the realms of absurdity like Doctor Foster did.

It's ok for what it is but severely overrated.

And tends to get extremely pretentious too when the lead character narrates the beginning and the end of the series.

Which is better, Liar or Doctor Foster?

Morgan. 15-10-2017 09:24 PM

I always seemed intrigued by the trailers but I've seen other similar programmes and got too confused and I thought this seemed confusing so I never watched but I've heard it's not that great so I won't watch. Maybe one day, but not now.
