Is it really about letting or not letting people do things, though? You can find something distasteful and not agree with it without wanting it to be banned and (... Gulp...) to be fair to Brillo, she didn't say she wanted this girls actions or choices to be banned or illegal. But surely, believing that everyone has the right to live how they want and bahave how they want doesn't mean saying "everything is fine and awesome!". ... Like it is OK to believe that getting sagged on TV for cash / fame isn't something that most people should aspire to... It is pretty bleak... And I'm not entirely convinced that rewarding that route to fame is necessarily a good idea.

If what is supposed to be a family event is going to be a washout, the organisers need to take on board that they made a bad choice. Their choice was inappropriate for the nature of the event, and the people spoke.
