What is your favourite typeface?

I noticed today that the font Helvetica (Arial on Windows) is 50 years old and was inspired to create this topic.

Helvetica at 50 article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6638423.stm

I thought that article about it and other type-faces was interesting... some people want Comic Sans banned! http://bancomicsans.com/

Personally I'm not to keen on Helvetica/Arial - it looks too bland and letters are very 'round' - but I have used it often. Verdana is better though I think.

I knew someone who swore by 'Bookman Old Style' and it does look quite good when printed out.

I quite like Trebuchet. It's quite neat.

I love Comic Sans and hate Ariel as it is our company font so having to use it all the time gets on my nerves.

~Kizwiz~ 09-05-2007 03:24 PM

What a bunch of nerds:whistle:

BigSister 09-05-2007 03:26 PM

I like Tahoma but we have to use TNR

Legend 09-05-2007 03:51 PM

I thought this was about faces people pulled when they typed, ha.

I just use Times New Roman, the one it's on when i open Word.

MarkWaldorf 09-05-2007 03:54 PM

Tahoma, I think.

Ruth*Star 09-05-2007 04:00 PM

Trebucket MS i think it's called, i use it all a time

Chrizzle 09-05-2007 04:59 PM

Century Gothic, I use most of the time.

I love Arial/Helvetica! I use it as my font on MSN, but bolded and italicised. It's godly !

Bells 09-05-2007 06:41 PM

I used to use Comic Sans loads, but then it started to annoy me. I use Arial Narrow on my MSN (bold), but generally on word documents I use random ones. Times New Roman the most though, because it's just standard and like Legend's reason, is the first one that appears when I open MS Word.

I use MS Serif in MSN and Yahoo.

I use Bookman Old Style for letters of complaint and such

And, I use tahoma or verdana for "stuff".

And, I'm a geek, and proud... http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/s...guren/c060.gif

I like some of Vista's new bundled fonts.

Matt08 13-05-2007 01:03 PM

Yeh, vista's new fonts are quite nice.

Di2001 13-05-2007 04:38 PM

I use Times New Roman in 12 pitch at work but prefer Tahoma when at home

sol 14-05-2007 07:01 PM

I use Times New Roman most often but Comic Sans MS is my fave.

Mark 14-05-2007 07:34 PM

I'm liking Calibri at the moment. It's a mix between Arial and Verdana I'd say.

It's the default in Office 2007 MS word.

Umm I like Century Gothic, Tw Cen MT and Curlz MT.

Red Moon 14-05-2007 10:16 PM

I tend to like hand writing fonts which I then covert to something more sensible when I send letters and things. Being dyslexic they are easier for me to read.
