 alcohol pricing is something i don't care too much about, since i've never had any alcohol before lol
|
It's a bit of a shame. The only people this will affect are poor people and people for whom money is tight. They're being penalised because some people can't drink responsibly. Of course, the rich people will carry on regardless.

The northern countries in Europe have higher alcohol use that the south. It's thought to be because of the cold.
This new law in Scotland is probably going to result in booze cruises to places in the north of England. |
As Rab C once said in his opening monologue as we awoke form a drink fuelled night
"DRINK, Drink - see me, ah can take it or leave it.." long pause "but ah'd rather take it" http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/...r_1211318c.jpg |
I miss Rab and Jamesie.

Now they don't get to, as an ex addict I can see the pros and cons of this. However it's hard to envisage the future effects on issues such as domestic violence, child poverty, alcohol related death, crime, social disorder or productivity. |

Its current MUP proposal of a 50p per unit charge means four 440ml cans of five per cent strength lager would cost at least £4.40, a 12 per cent bottle of wine would be at least £4.50 and a 70cl bottle of whisky must cost at least £14. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/he...-a8055761.html |
