Big Brother 8
The countdown to Big Brother 8 has begun. Unbelieveably, there is less than a month to go before you're a) cancelling plans for the summer and being glued to E4 live streaming or b) banishing Channel 4 from your house until Spring.

For those of you in the former group, a few BB8 secrets have been revealed in today’s tabloids including details of a ‘Heaven and Hell’ task. As the name implies, some housemates will live like royalty, while others will apparently be forced to live outside, in rain, hail or, as is quite likely, glorious sunshine. According to rumours, there will also be a ‘caravan of love’ parked in the garden to encourage intimacy between randy housemates, and a not-so-secret garden hidden behind a door.

Also today, the Big Brother 8 logo has been unveiled, a tweak of the show’s basic ‘eye’ logo. How wrong can you get such a simple logo? Pretty darn wrong by the looks of the new multicoloured eye – check out the picture in the gallery, top right.

According to the designer Daniel Eatock, the brief was to “embrace all colours within the spectrum, opposites, complimentaries and all the shades in between.” The different colours are said to represent the different elements of society, which seems to me to be a very misguided bid to appease protestors of Celebrity Big Brother’s treatment of Shilpa Shetty. A multicoloured logo to portray a multicoloured Big Brother? How naff.

I say I hate. Im glad hes shocked.

I don't think it's that horrible an eye. I admit I don't love it, but I don't see why there's such a huge fuss over it. I reckon the colourfulness adds an element of positivity - and as mentioned in the statement, I think it'll be cool to watch in the opening titles etc.

I think its a wicked eye, and I think people are making such a big deal out of it, for no reason:sleep:

How do we know it isnt someone pretending to be him?

I think people have to cut him a bit of slack as well, people forget that the eye isnt completely his own idea. He's given a brief to base the eye on, and that was to include every single colour. So people cant really criticise him for that but I still dont like the eye as I think its too basic and a bit tacky

But as its merely a comment. Whooo. Cant be believeing it. Its more than likely from a symphatizer of the eye.

Even the blog editors call it "naff" and say that its gone very wrong.

I think the house will have a retro theme and thats why they have the "testcard" theme

i think it is a fantasitic eye! better than bb7, the only reaseon we say that bb7 one is better is because we havent seen the adverts or anything yet...trust, we will grow to like it, it has much otential with graphics and is representing and FINNALY fun big brother!!!!:bouncy::spin2:

I think its bound to be very controversial. You either love it hate it or have no opinion of it whatsoever. Those who love it, really love it, those who hate it, really hate it.

I think its the fact that it looks sooo different to anything weve ever seen before, and the fact that it does look fan made

ITs only the logo. Im starting to think this series has got BB4 written all over it and if it flops part of me will laugh.

I'm glad Danie is shocked, his eye is so rubbish and weird. Next year, he will make something much better.
