So me and my boyfriend had a big argument...

SO.

My boyfriend and I had just been to the beach for a few hours (it was lush, we swam in the sea and had a Goanna [iguana] try to steal our investment ham sandwiches.)

We had a party to go to later in the evening so on the drive home I said that I need a haircut. Ive had no time to get a haircut as I work 2 jobs and haven't had a day off in a long time. He suggested that I get a haircut straight after going to the beach with sandy hair and then go home to shower and then go out.

In response I was like "ew i'm not going to a hairdresser with dirty hair"

And he thinks this is really wrong somehow?!?! His argument was that it's inefficient and hairdressers shouldn't give a **** if it's dirty AF?! Please confirm that I am right.

You get to go to the beach in December while the rest of us are freezing to death, that is the real issue here

True, but Christmas carols make more sense in context in the UK. "Dashing through the snow" doesn't quite feel right over here...

You are right

Why waste time washing something that will be gone moments later

Withano 02-12-2017 11:32 AM

I dont feel strongly either way tbh, hairdressers have cut unclean hair before (like waaay dirtier than sand and saltwater), but they probably prefer to cut clean hair.

Id wash my hair, poor barber doesnt want your nasty hair in his face.

BTW make up sex is the best

dont worry, he may sound like hes have a nice time but australia is having its worst start to a summer in years.
Truth is told.

Ever gay kid has to (or should) go to Australia when they are young and get that experience but sooner or later it is time to graduate and come back to the real world. you can only run for so long.

It must be washed before you get it cut!

Shaun 02-12-2017 11:58 AM

this is what happens when you try and pretend I'm not your one true love

It depends on what you define being dirty hair... I mean, if your hair is not covered in mud but it's just messy because of the sea salt - I believe it's fine. I go to shower after getting my hair cut, to wash away the tiny bits of hair that didn't get removed by that brush thingy (not sure how to call it:laugh:) - so I'm too lazy with showering twice...

Wizard. 02-12-2017 03:11 PM

Surely they wash it for you anyway so why do you care?

Vicky. 02-12-2017 03:12 PM

Don't they wash your hair first? When I get mine cut they always wash it first, but it may be different for women...

caprimint 02-12-2017 03:12 PM

Meh, I don't think going with sand in it is that bad. I wouldn't go with 'dirty' hair, but sand is passable imo.

Jamie89 02-12-2017 03:14 PM

I think you should generally go to the hairdressers with washed/clean hair, but I don't think it matters that much tbh. Can they not wash your hair before cutting it at the hairdressers?

Calderyon 02-12-2017 03:19 PM

Donīt most of the hairdressers have an option of hair washing for a small price before the hair cutting?

I thought you were a women?

JerseyWins 02-12-2017 04:47 PM

I don't even go to get a haircut until I've showered that day regardless if I've been out or if my hair isn't dirty. I'd just feel gross so I 100% agree with you. My friends / family members that know about this think I'm stupid for it though. :joker:

I am a woman :suspect: What in that sentence makes you think I am not

smudgie 02-12-2017 05:04 PM

Let the hairdresser wash your hair before haircut.
I am more concerned that you consider this a big argument with the boyfriend:joker:

JerseyWins 02-12-2017 06:27 PM

For me personally I hate when my hair is wet for a haircut but I've never even been asked if I wanted it washed either. Usually I'll just have some water sprayed on it, never really had it washed during/before a haircut.

Glenn. 02-12-2017 07:10 PM

Where the **** do you even live to have been to the beach today?

Black Dagger 02-12-2017 07:12 PM

My hairdresser washes my hair anyway.

'Location: Sydney' is a fairly major hint

Glenn. 02-12-2017 08:09 PM

Why don’t you **** off? I’m showing the least amount of ‘ I care about this’ as possible
