I'm awful at remembering dates but my anniversary and my children's birth dates I couldn't ever forget I can understand him saying the wrong date but not knowing the month and thinking it's a couple of months off is just plain silly

its hardly a big deal is it. It's not a crime to forget a birthday, at least not yet ... Birthdays etc are completely over rated events designed to earn companies money. Nothing more.

Amir is just like any guy who makes mistakes, but you can't blame him for sleeping with other women, his wife was very average to look at before the surgery, and now she looks like something from another planet, and there is the blows to the head from boxing, that would make him forget things like his children's birthday.
