I know Whitney is dead of drugs but i am talking about musical legacy. Madge is still a credible musical star but do not let that cloud your judgement here.

Madonna had sold an estimated 305,600,000 albums.

Whitney Houston sold more than 200 million albums and singles

Whitney is the winner BY FAR

Never really cared that much for Whitney, Madonna's discography is far more diverse and I think she just has more great songs.

Obviously Whitney's voice is in a league of its own but it's not all about the voice, sorry Emma Willis!

Tell Madonna to come back when she releases anything as emotional as One Moment In Time

Madonna, because shes not dead clearly. She also got her kit off for a very artistic book where Whitney didn't. Last but not least, number of album sales says it all. Whitney didn't come close to our Madges numbers

It depends what you mean by best, I prefer Madonna but Whitney has a far far far better voice (or had back in the day)

Whitney was more of a Torch singer, Madonna was a popstar

Influentially Madonna wins, she's still influencing the popstars of today, more than 30 year's after she came on the scene.

People like Kylie, Britney, Pink, Gaga, Miley and others, all owe a debt of gratitude to Madonna

Even though I also love Whitney, "My Love Is Your Love" is my 2nd fave song...I feel Madonna took more risks in her career compared to Whitney...Madge's discography is also far more diverse and superior...

Yeah was going to say, yes she had a much better voice but Madonna was talented in other ways and she's still going now

While I do like many of Whitney's tracks, she in my view absolutely murdered ' I Will Always Love You'.
It really grates on me.

However in any event it would be Madonna all the way for me,there's not much she's recorded which I haven't enjoyed listening to.

So Madonna over Whitney any day for me.
