Adele favourite for xmas #1 amid rumours of a Grenfell Tower tribute

Her to pay tribute to George Micheal as well by releasing a cover of Last Christmas?

Shaun 14-12-2017 06:43 PM

Not really sure how Last Christmas would be a tribute to them.

Without wanting to sound insensitive there's already been a #1 single in memory of Grenfell this year and this seems a tad overkill...

Marsh. 14-12-2017 06:44 PM

Ariana Grande hew

Adele has been personally involved in all tributes and has spent many a times with the families and at tributes already the other was a money spinning idea

Donate money then... Like you say if she's been so invested in the appeals and community spirit that has boomed in the wake of Grenfell then why do the most public thing possible to reinforce it? Especially when she's been so vocal in the past about wanting privacy and wanting to shy away from making so much music. I love her but the idea of it just sounds... tacky.

She has donated but this is just another way and its most likely going to be a new song she wrote with a lot of emotion and thought

It probably wont even be promoted much either

So... that makes it pointless as a charitable exercise.

Smithy 14-12-2017 07:02 PM

Eh, agree with Shaun, just donate the money rather than releasing a single, she could donate more than any single will make

She is more entitled to release a charity single after months of being there for families then some of the countries biggest names doing it to get there name out there ad gain more promotion,

How many of those actually donated out of there own pockets and helped out?

That's got sod all to do with it.

Entitled? :joker::joker::joker:

As I said, an utterly pointless exercise that only serves to look completely tasteless.

Tom4784 14-12-2017 07:07 PM

I don't see it happening.

Denver 14-12-2017 07:15 PM

Apparently she is releasing her version of Fastlove tomorrow so a tribute to George Micheal with proceeds going to charity

Smithy 14-12-2017 07:16 PM

Ok but why? The only reason is for the Xmas no1 which, like marsh said is tasteless

Smithy 14-12-2017 07:21 PM

No... Adele would covering a George Michael song :conf2:

Oliver_W 14-12-2017 07:25 PM

Just let Last Christmas be the Christmas number one.

Crimson Dynamo 14-12-2017 07:26 PM

Yeah the UK are really blasé when it comes to new Adele material

lewis111 14-12-2017 07:32 PM

If she doesn't release this then Ed Sheeran is 100% getting Xmas #1 and I'd Rather see an Adele charity single covering George Michael than an Ed Sheerans snooze that's he's releasing about 4 versions of to try and get Xmas #1
