Joe has more dance experience than Alex

Seen so many people say they will not vote for Alexandra because she has previous experience through her theater work and music videos so they will vote for a true novice in Joe.

He has way more professional dance experience than Alex, he was in Rent and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he will have undergone intense training for both and I am pretty confident there are 2 scenes in Chitty where the leads even ballroom dance wheras Alex barely danced in The Bodyguard (I have seen it) and not at all in Sister Act (unless you count swaying as dancing) so her only experience is from filming videos for her music.

Why are she and Debbie getting so much stick when Joe has the same experience if not more?

Gemma is the only one left with no experience really.

I agree that Debbie gets too much stick here. She is doing great and has captured the imagination of the British public.

Joe and Alex have had the most experience and its so unfair on Debbie and Gemma

This is what I've been saying in another thread :clap1: .

This is what I hate about SCD every year certain people get harshly criticised for "previous dance experience" and others get let off Scott free :bored: .

Classic case of royal double standards ! :joker:.

I know nobody is a trained ballroom or Latin dancer but it's unfair when 2 celebrities get given a hard time . Like I've said , at least half of the celebrities will have some advantage whether it's a bit of dance ability or fitness stamina.

Gemma is an actress so I find it hard to believe she's never done dancing in her life  , most people in the acting & entertainment industry will of done some theatre or stage school in their lives .

And even if Gemma does lack dance experience she still has fitness on her side as she does kickboxing and should have a strong core . Davood is also fit in shape so has the discipline ,and Jonnie as a sports person would of been very athletic as well.

Crimson Dynamo 15-12-2017 09:01 AM

its also unfair to think that Debbie can train as hard as Burke

Debbie is older and has a career and family stuff where Burke has no commitments or a job so can concentrate 24-7 (probably Gemma too as she does not work, not sure what she does)

GoldHeart 15-12-2017 09:09 AM

Everyone in the competition have careers ! . Debbie is burning the candle at both ends a bit more ,but they all have jobs :idc:

Debbie's a trained ballerina so stop saying she has no experience :nono: Debbie easily has the most, followed by Joe, then Alex and Gemma with none.

that was over 30 years ago and if you think that training to do ballet is a transferable discipline to ballroom then you know noting about ballet or ballroom

Right but a bit of streetdance or swaying side to side in Alex's case is very much transferable to ballroom? Okay sure.

I actually do dance, have done for years and ballet is easily transferable to ballroom, the discipline are very similar actually .

GoldHeart 15-12-2017 10:20 AM

Half the SCD contestants this year have fitness & dance advantage :idc: , we're just going round in circles  .

Gemma does kickboxing therefore she has the athletic stamina and core . It may not of been mentioned but how do people know Gemma hasn't gone to dance lessons in her past ? .

If anything having an athletic stamina can be more of a hinderance as it can make your frame rigid and robotic which for especially some of the Latin and Upbeat dances can be a downfall.

Yeah, it's all to do with the frame and the legs right?

Well Debbie isn't the only Strictly contestant to have Ballet experience in the history of the show :joker:.

She's still not a trained Latin or ballroom dancer, from what you've said Joe has more previous ballroom experience but people like to ignore his ability  .

You're only saying that because Gemma has had very mediocre and hit & miss performances .

Gemma Is breezing through the training sessions as she's physically fit and strong. If you compare her to someone like Brian Conley who was clearly not as fit and had 2 left feet , Gemma has an advantage.

:joker: But you've said all kinds of stuff yourself about contestants and even got annoyed with your own fav Mollie at times.

This thread is about Joe having previous dance experience, nothing about ridiculing celebrities:nono: .
