That is about right. I'm surprised they haven't worked out that all the countries problems are due to us voting them in to power.

Blair missed a trick when he didn't say t "We wouldn't gone to war with Iraq if you had voted me in so it's all your fault. So there, Now leave me alone. I not responsible and it's not my fault. "

Well, firstly I wouldn't worry about your age, the fact that you have any political views is a great start.

I'm not certain whether you are referring to rising taxes generally or specifically Green eco taxes.

Its true that Government officials and businessmen do travel far more than the `normal` people you refer to, but this type of travel is fairly crucial. Your post got me thinking tho that if business travel is so important and linked to the pursuit of making money then perhaps business travel should be taxed at a far higher level than say when an individual goes on their yearly holiday.

The world is a little c**p at the moment but having seen a few governments come and go I can say that I don't recall a time when its been possible to say that generally the world is at ease with itself.

Like Tony Blair traveling to Trimdon Labour Club on Thursday to announce he is standing down as leader of the Labour party. Couldn't that have been done in London?

It was a pointless trip made worse by half the worlds press traveling up to the north east from London to film the event.

Yes well, I think I shall alter my words regarding their travel arrangements from`crucial` to sometimes crucial. I agree lol.

Polititions because of the nature of their job will indeed need to travel more than the average person. However your observations are quite correct they do journey which in many cases are for selfish political propaganda reasons........

What you have at a young age come to realize is that polititions be they in Governemt or hoping to be in Government are really a bunch of control freak hypocrites.

We all know about two faced Blair but Cameron is no different. He bleats on about energy savings in the home but when asked if he in is home has changed to energy saving bulbs the answer was no.......

Expects others to do it but can't set the exmple himself.

All Polititions my friend are exploiters and users of power to satisfy their own ends and I don't mean financial ends.

The nightmare scenerio that people of any country have to endure democratic or otherwise are leaders that are also aflicted with religion. politics and religion means a double whammy of control freakism and disaster of some kind or another is almost inevitable......Such leaders will hear what you say but won't really digest what you say.

Sorry for the rather cynical reply but I have been on this planet longer than I like to remember and have come to realise the realities of a staged/ fake and manipulated democracy we live in.......

You will hear polititions say they voted on a subject according to "Their" concience. What they are really saying is stuff you lot stuff democracy regardless of what the majority of you may want you will get what I think you should have.......Nahhh Dictators hiding behind and using a sham democratic system.....

Great idea and this kind of thing had been suggested. There was a proposal that everyone would have a yearly flight allowance. Either so many airmiles or a set number of flights each year would be taxed at a lower rate. Go above your set limit and the big tax kicks in. I have no idea if it's being implemented though. A socialist or even left of centre government would probably think it's a reasonable solution, but we have a Labour government instead.

And next they'll introduce road tolls.
