How to feel christmassy?

I don't think anyone here is feeling Christmassy, and I haven't for a solid 5 years, but I'm too upset to let go!

So this year I have:
  • actually done my Christmas shopping irl with all the Christmas lights and ****
  • Bought and wrapped gifts with christmas paper
  • watched essentially every christmas special of my favourite tv shows
  • worked my first christmas in a shop surrounded by christmas trees and tinsel and ****
  • had christmas24 on essentially 24/7 (they're not films to be celebrating though :umm2:
  • finished most work early and left the rest for after christmas
  • cried

and I feel NOTHING! How do I get excited about daddy claus?

Same sis! It’s just gone for me

It goes worse and worse every year after you find out Father Chrimbo was a hurtful lie

Work is making me feel Xmassy but as soon as I leave I don't feel it all

I found out when I was 10 but I still had those jingling bells until 2013, which is ironic since that was when I was living with family (and consequently a three, five, and seven year old). You'd think being around family I've not seen constantly for years and being around children would've reignited the magic but I felt nothing that year :(

Christmas is what you make if it.
My daughter arrived home at 4 this afternoon so Christmas has started officially in this house.

I think you do lose the christmas magic a bit but then it returns when you have kids and start them believing.

Crimson Dynamo 22-12-2017 04:39 PM
