Pink for a girl, Blue for a boy
 

Is that the way it should be?

or are some into other colours?

This is a very old tradition and I personally don't know how old. But maybe in 2007 it is a tradition worth leaving behind.

Maybe "Green" instead of "Pink"

and

Maybe "Yellow" instead of "Blue"

It's 'no' to changing what the pink/blue colours symbolise. :thumbs:

It's 2 big symbols, you can't change it, so no !!
Even if you wante to chance that, you can't, cause it's in all the cultures, it's really old, so it's quite impossible ! :spin2:

There’s always going to be exceptions to things – like you’ll have some girls who hate pink etc. It’s perfectly fine to break out of the mould though – for instance, even for me personally I used to love pink when I was little, then went to hating it, then liked it again! However, the tradition is probably forever going to stick around – and to be honest, I like it that way!

It will always be that way. People can try to change it but it won't work. Nuff said.

Depends on what shade of green it is. but i think Blues always a boys symbol and pinks always a girls symbol

I know that most Girl's I have met, love (Pink) and wearing it, or the decor of their bedroom would always be prefered as Pink.

Pink is a nice colour.

But for Boys, I don't feel personally that Blue was ever that important to me.

I was happy with Black or Red or White and Grey.

But Blue, not really!!!!:bouncy:

Green is my favourite colour and i'm no girl. It's just down to personal preference, i've even got a Pink shirt... i like most colours for clothes.

But there is an old saying about mixing Green with Red though:-


"red and green are seldom seen except upon the fool"

or something like that??

Many moons back, pink was the traditional colour for boys. Things can and do change.

This my be of some interest to some.



According to the website "Gender Specific Colors," it would seem that
assigning color to gender is mostly a 20th century trait. It would
also seem that at one time, the color associations were reversed when
color first came into use as a gender identifier.

In fact, this reversal of what we consider "normal" was considered
conventional, even in the early 20th century.

"At one point pink was considered more of a boy's color, (as a
watered-down red, which is a fierce color) and blue was more for
girls. The associate of pink with bold, dramatic red clearly affected
its use for boys. An American newspaper in 1914 advised mothers, "If
you like the color note on the little one's garments, use pink for the
boy and blue for the girl, if you are a follower of convention." [The

"There has been a great diversity of opinion on the subject, but the
generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The

It would also seem that Nazi Germany had something to do with the
association of pink with femininity:

triangle to identify homosexuals. (The yellow star of David is the
best known symbol, used of course to identify Jews. The German system

criminals, political prisinors, an a whole range of other groups). The
NAZI's choice of pink suggests that it by the 1930s was a color that

Pink is prefered by many girls and I love Pink anyway, "as a colour" for a girl's bedroom.

My parents have a pink bedroom and so does my girlfriend and quite a few other girl's I have met in my life.

But Blue for a boy, I don't think it matters so much.

Nooo! You can't change Pink to Green! I don't want my little girl ( If I have one!) Dressed in Green...she would look like a tree!
