Jess to Ann on Brexit: “You’ll probably hate me for this but I didn’t vote..”

Ann Widdecombe and Jess Impiazzi discussed the issue of the UK leaving the EU over breakfast. Jess said of her views: "I read one party's ideas and I read the other's but they were throwing the great stuff at us and I didn't know the underlying bad stuff. "It all got really confusing." Ann replied: "I'll tell you how I decided on Brexit, ask yourself what's important, ask yourself whether you can have it in or out and make a decision. "Mine was the sovereignty argument so that's what I did." Jess then admitted: "You'll probably hate me for this but I didn't vote for the reason I was stuck. "I didn't want to be one of those people who just voted for copying other people. I have a Conservative family, I've got very Labour friends and both of them are just chucking stuff at me. I'm not a politician. I didn't read enough. I was too scared to contribute to it. It was a chicken way out. I didn't know what to do." Ann told her: "We're celebrating 100 years of women having the vote. "And you just told me you didn't bother." |

Having the right to vote is fantastic, as is the right not to.

Mess Ann

LOL Ann.
Jess seems like a thinker :idc: |
So did Ann vote leave?
|
There was an old Doctor Who episode where voting was compulsory, but (I might be misremembering) instead of voting for the next leader, they voted whether or not to kill the current one. I'm sure there's also a handful of dystopian books and films where voting is compulsory.
But yeah, women now have the right to choose to vote, and this time around Jess chose not to. |

Well, at least Jess is somewhat reasonable. Many people have voted without knowing what it means exactly, and it's worse. |
This is fair from Jess
A lot of people vote just "because", and some vote the same way as their family or are pressured, When your family share a seperate view as you, it makes it difficult. I feel that people who know enough SHOULD vote, but those who have no idea because we are ****ed over whatever happens anyway, should not be ridiculed for not voting. I think Jess' point is completely reasonable. WHy should she vote when she doesn't know what's the best for HER? |
Jess is the most unstereotypical glamour model I have ever seen. She is sweet and honest and doesnt flash her tits at every opportunity. How refreshing
|
My initial reaction was to be irritated that she didn't use her vote, but I have to say her reason was sound, it's not like she didn't think about it.
