Worboys, 60, was jailed in April 2009 after a jury convicted him of 19 charges relating to druggings and sexual assaults against at least 12 women, including the rape of one of them.

After his conviction, police received further complaints from dozens of women and said that over his 13-year career as a London taxi driver, he could have drugged and attacked more than 100 female passengers.

He was handed an indeterminate sentence with a minimum term of eight years to be served before the parole board could approve his release.

Nine months into his ninth year in prison, a three-person panel cleared him to be freed. He had already served about a year in jail on remand before his trial but even including this period, he will have served less than a year for every woman he was convicted of attacking.
Absolutely disgusting story. 100 ****ing victims, maybe more. Should never ever be allowed back with the public. But who cares, its only women right..

Disgusting man. Stupid judge. Crappy 'justice system'

arista 06-01-2018 06:51 PM

Yes Vicky
it is so wrong.

Saph 06-01-2018 06:54 PM

thats scary

AnnieK 06-01-2018 06:55 PM

Agreed, far too little time served. How that can be perceived as just is beyond me. His victims can't be released early from the trauma he has forced them to live with so why should he be? Will give it a year before he reoffends

smudgie 06-01-2018 07:05 PM

Hopefully he will be arrested, charged and convicted of another dozen cases, another 10 Year’s doing time then repeat again.:fist:

He will be a permanent risk to women. Someone who attacks that many women should never be let loose on the streets again.

That's absoloutely shocking, what an injustice to his victims.

Also a kick up the arse for those wanting Uber closed down due to safety reasons

Kizzy 11-01-2018 01:48 PM

What's going on here!?

He's only been referred to parole as per normal procedure though hasn't he? I am hoping he will not be approved for parole?

bots 11-01-2018 02:05 PM

I think there is something wrong with the system when the judges sentencing is ignored

Complete mis-typo, in work and trying (and failing obviously) to mulit task- apologies and I am glad you have highlighted it, thank you. It was meant to say I hope he is NOT approved for parole but they are following normal procedure for indeterminate sentenced offenders according to that article.

What's worrying is I'm not even surprised

jaxie 11-01-2018 02:20 PM

It beggers belief how a parole board would consider this individual 'safe' to be out in public.

I wonder if any of the parole board were women?

Good question actually.

Tom4784 11-01-2018 03:14 PM

It's a complete abortion of justice if this goes through. Utterly indefensible.

Northern Monkey 11-01-2018 03:27 PM

Scumbag!

Surely he should have gone back to court while he was in prison to get his sentence extended for the other crimes he was never charged for?

Also the parole board need to have a look at themselves.

Labours fault.

empire 13-01-2018 12:19 AM

its funny, he raped 100 but served a longer sentence than the Pakistani rape gangs ever did, it could be that he got castrated, and in the end, a reduced sentence for it.

The Tories have been in charge of this country for nearly a decade now and haven't fixed the issue.

Both parties have let this country down on making sure that repeat offenders actually stay in Prison.

They haven't been in power for eight years so..... it's probably better to blame the party that's actually been in power for that long?

There were only three people on the board and one of them was a woman, I'm sure I read that... I'll try to find it somewhere but I saw it, I'm sure.

They were not on power when he was sentenced..nor when the evidence was not allowed to be used....that was and is all labours doing..they even admitted it in sky news.
