I think it comes down to her seemingly total lack of consideration for other people. It didn't matter if it might be a problematic or offensive thing to say, as long as it got her point across. I can't think of any other reason except pure self centeredness (I don't think she's actually trying to be offensive or cause controversy and I don't think she's ignorant either :/ )

Also she is using it to say she is bothered by anyone dressing as a woman, and yet there are seven women in that house who aren't upset at all and are accepting both of India and Shane/Courtney. I wonder what that really says about India.

Here is the thing, she was applying this phobia to when she was a man, however, she is now a woman as she keeps on telling everyone, at which point that phobia/anxiety should disappear, but it hasn't, therefore she isn't comfortable as she is :shrug:

She has aligned herself to John Barnes. She thinks she has found in him a friend who will support her 'discrimination' and sob story. I think she hoped John was going to support her by mentioning colour and black people...as he has already spoke about racism in football.
She obviously has serious issues....she has a huge chip on her shoulder and just loves playing the victim...it's all she has done since she has been in there and no matter how much acceptance she has had in there..it's not enough. She talks ****e, constantly wanting attention and centre stage :fist:

In a sense I have some sympathy because I think she may think that she's wasted so much of her life in a different gendered body because it wasn't at all socially acceptable until maybe 5 years ago max., and now she is past her prime as a sexually-desirable person, she gets pissed off whenever (young, attractive) drag queens are confident and loud and expressive.

As a fan of Drag Race I've noticed there's been a difficult area between trans and drag for a while: trans people getting pissed off with drag queens colloquially using the terms "******" and "shemale" as umbrella terms for themselves (RuPaul herself has a song called '****** Chasers' - a term for men who desire men who dress as women; it's a conflation of terms and often leads to accusations that drag queens undermine what - especially MTF - trans people are)

But the weirdest thing is this doesn't even seem to be the source of what India even puts across, she's instead going for this literal, physical fear angle that's just absurd (see: Hannah afraid of blue people in BB18) and makes her look like an idiot.

The intention of blackface was to imitate an entirely different race with the intention of dehumanising them and making them "a thing to laugh at". The intention of drag is to imitate an entirely different gender with the intention of celebrating and worshipping them and their beauty/stage presence/sexuality, there's a pretty major difference.

I mean... I'm not saying India is right in any regard, but this isn't a comparison that totally came out of the blue. For different reasons, it's one that's been made before.

I don't think it's totally unrealistic to expect someone who didn't transition until fairly recently to still have some leftover nerves and anxiety over being perceived as a man dressed as a woman rather than simply being perceived as A Woman. ****, I may be totally out of line since I'm only Wiki watching but I think I read somewhere that India mentioned this explicitly? We're dealing with someone who has a huuuuge plethora of issues regarding how she sees herself and how she wants others to see her, and while she absolutely is overbearing and not exactly to likable, I feel like a lot of people (on the interwebs in general, not necessarily in this thread) have been rather insensitive to her plight and would have an issue with her no matter how she reacted. Like, even if she quietly removed herself from the situation and didn't make a big stink about it, surely someone would make a thread here about That India and how her mask is slipping and how she's vying for attention and sympathy.

But even with all of that being said, the guy dressing up in drag clearly was clearly not being malicious and seemed very sincere in his apologies to India, and of course India did a poor job expressing how she feels so :shrug:

Essentially she wants everyone to be on her page and she sees people laughing at men in drag she feels they are laughing at her - i get that but her problem is she has no sense of humour and i am afraid that is what you need in her situation. Through the TL i have met quite a few trans women and all have had a good sense of humour and can use that to deal with situations like last night.
