Like genuine was trying to say?

Cherie 19-01-2018 07:43 AM

Don't think so

Niamh. 19-01-2018 07:50 AM

I don't think she's racist but she's definitely sexist

I don't think she means to be sexist, just has old fashioned views on male and female roles

Doesn't make her any less sexist though
I mean imagine changing that in the context of race : I don't think she means to be racist, she just has old fashioned views on black and white people's roles [emoji102]

Stevep 19-01-2018 08:49 AM

Tbh, he can't claim she is racist on the basis of her disapproving when they cuddle, because she also apparently sighs when Jess cuddles with Maggie.

She was in parliament do it's hard to believe she has radically sexist views either as she would have been in a minority and I would imagine she stuck up for herself

As for the racism jibe, she cited Rosa Parkes as a woman to be admired, is the the view of a racist

That's right Ginuwine, play the race card, it usually works in shutting up white people you don't like and makes others dislike them. On yer bike, Granddad, and take your American BS with you.

joeysteele 19-01-2018 09:15 AM

No,she's not racist in my view.

-Sue- 19-01-2018 09:21 AM

I don't think Ann is racist

Ellen 19-01-2018 09:23 AM

I think there are a few names you could call Ann but racist is not one of them. If they cant get her one way try another way eh?

I never said she was racist though, I said imagine if you used that defense of her being sexist as a defense of being racist, that wouldn't be ok so why is this?

rionablue 19-01-2018 10:35 AM

Not in the least just very very old fashioned in her ways and views. Alot of her generation are more forward thinking in their views on gay marriage etc but she isnt going to change now

I don't find her particularly sexist, I think she prefers the company of men to women and perhaps gets on better with males, maybe that is throwback to her job I don't know

bots 19-01-2018 10:49 AM

i don't think Ann is racist or sexist. She doesnt agree with some of the over compensation and positive discrimination, but she is fully behind womens equality

This^ I think she prefers mens company as do a lot of women, me included:hehe:

Ann's views are dated and I probably would disagree with 95% of what she believes in, but she is a little 70 year old lady for goodness sake. How many youngsters normally give a toss what someone 2 or 3 generations older thinks. How can they be so shallow and spineless either to challenge her views directly or better still just completely ignore them. Thats what's laughable to me, that they are getting so worked up about her

That's not the reason why i think she's sexist though, it's all the stuff about when the men were to wait on them, it was ridiculous and un fair and she was constantly complaining about it whereas when it was reversed she was falling all over herself to make sure the men did nothing and ordering the other women around etc things like and commenting on the younger girls what they wear etc

I find that attitude hilarious tbqh, like as if all these women who prefer mens company are somehow special and "different" to other women lol I love my female friends, sisters I never had

Look at CBB for a case study, the men are clearly the most bitchy ones in there.......

Amy Jade 19-01-2018 11:37 AM

Racist no. Sexist, to a degree yes but I don't think she's malicious with it just quite old fashioned.

Nobody can deny she was very against the men taking care of her but is more than happy to see Rachel wait hand and foot on her and allows an 82 year old to bring food to her bed.

What I am unsure of is if she is like this because she believes those are womens roles or if she is doesn't want men thinking she needs them.

reece(: 19-01-2018 11:40 AM

Ann is scum dinosaur

Women and men are individuals, imo it's totally ridiculous to lump them in to category's of people you're likely to get on with or not
