Overreact much?

What was that about Wayne getting all bent out of shape. It was hard to work out what he was annoyed about really, Daniel had called him 'she' a few times? Which apparently Wayne does himself. Seemed to come out of nowhere but suddenly he's claiming it could affect his professional reputation and undermine his status as an ambassador for prostate cancer? Get a grip Wayne

Nicky91 21-01-2018 11:09 AM

i find that not very nice from Wayne

..I could see his point though..I mean in the way that ‘labels’ are so often used atm ...how there’s a tendency to ‘put into a box’ etc with so much and everyone has to have a label...Once or twice, ok is what he was saying...but then, it’s becoming a label if constantly used, which he felt it was...I can understand his objection there...

Ammi 21-01-2018 11:16 AM

..and wasn’t that what Shane was trying to explain, which is what Daniel himself saw...and why he approached Wayne to clear it between them...

She takes herself far to seriously.

I think Daniel was just a bit baffled by it all but didn't like the idea he'd upset Wayne somehow so took the flack and apologised for it. I didn't like how Wayne reacted to the apology really, he didn't just accept it with grace he kept at it and at it so that Daniels 'crime' escalated initially from just irritating Wayne to apparently threatening his career and his reputation

Of all the things that can affect your reputation in Big Brother, being called 'she' a few times as a joke amongst friends is not a particularly important one

Oliver_W 21-01-2018 11:25 AM

Didn't Wayne say he works with kids, or something?

I work in a school. If I went in BB, and was constantly referred to as "she", I'd want it clear I don't want that to happen.

Niamh. 21-01-2018 11:25 AM

I thought he was joking first, he's a big diva

He felt he was being taken the mickey out of a bit too often for his liking. I get what he means. It happens a lot with straight guys and gay guys having banter I believe.

Working in a pub, you have to be able to take a ribbing. But when certain (men) begin to give you a ribbing a bit too much, you understand it's not as innocent as banter.

..hmmm yeah but he did have a large glass of wine in front of him so I’m factoring that alcohol fuel in him going on a bit as well......he can be a bit dramatic but I did see his point as well..I’m liking the balance of Daniel’s character we’re been shown as well, he handled it all really well I thought...

Same, there's times he's been a bit crass and offensive but he has shown a more mature and likeable side as well

..damn BB for showing us so many character dimensions this year......yeah he’s on ok guy, a bit sleazy at times for sure but some good stuff as well...

Cherie 21-01-2018 11:59 AM

It was beginning to grate on him, this is the social interaction we have been begging for for years, I can understand that he can refer to himself as she or whatever because he is in control, when others start doing it and depending on the context I can see how it could be annoying

..yeah also he said he doesn’t mind with once or twice, type thing...but it becoming a habit was something he didn’t want..I do completely see his point..and was also impressed with Daniel’s handling of it all...

Maybe he should have thought of that before he got his willy out and flashed it to the ladies on NTV..

Such a drama queen

There is a Facebook group about the city I used to live in and people were asked about celebrities who they have met in the city in the past.

I was extremely surprised to see Wayne's name come up with quite a few comments about his diva behaviour when he visited.

Very demanding, reduced a waitress to tears and wanted a local swimming baths opened especially for him and threw a strop when it was refused. Several Do you know who I am moments as well.

He doesn't show this side on his TV appearances, I was quite sad he could be like this.

Thats twice you’ve misgendered me. I am a REAL man Daniel I want you to remember that I’ll say it one more time so it really sinks in I am a REAL MAN

Yes, I agree with that. I think there's a very considerate and sensitive side to Daniel as well as the more laddish, somewhat vulgar side. I think his relationship with both Rachel and Wayne demonstrate this. To me he is one of the more interesting characters in the house this year.

As for Wayne, I also feel the alcohol was having an influence, but it was lovely to see them sorting it out. The conversation demonstrated a real warmth between them.

bots 21-01-2018 01:37 PM

im not a wayne fan. Honestly, he encourages all sorts, and I think getting his willy out will have done more to damage any future interactions with children than anything that has been said

I think he was a little tipsy at the time which always seems to skew what people are saying. I think the gist was that he was worried that constantly calling him she and bantering about his campness might go over poorly with charities and organisations he is involved with.

If those organisations did view him poorly for that then I would imagine they'd get an outcry for being homophobic.

Wayne does give me the creeps a bit sometimes. I can't put my finger on it but he seems a step away from something inappropriate.
