Old Cards

What do yall do with old birthday/anniversary etc cards? Was having a clear out yesterday in preparation to move house and found a load of old ones and chucked them in recycling, then wondered why I even kept them in the first place

Do all your cards go in the bin or are there any you keep for personal reasons?

I'm quite a nostalgic person so my birthday cards go in a bag in my wardrobe. I'll never ever ever need them, but I can't get rid of them.

I kept my 16th and will keep my 21st ones

I think that’s the reason I kept them too, but now just having a 23rd birthday card from a friend seems a bit stupid  I’ve kept my 21st ones tho

Usually throw them out. I kept a birthday card from an ex once because he made it and it was really special (even though it probably sounds really lame  ) but I haven't kept any others.

I kept my cards off my ex actually but when I finished him i burnt them with my friend in the back garden :skull:

Yeah, I used to keep all cards but it gets ridiculous. To be honest, I always ask people NOT to get me cards now as I just think they're a waste of money. I have kept all cards from when my son was born in his memory box and sympathy cards from when my mum passed in a memory box but any others get recycled straight away

I think I have a few saved somewhere from my 18th and 21st but others I bin.

Firewire 21-01-2018 07:40 PM

Bin them unless they mean something

hijaxers 21-01-2018 07:48 PM

I use em for roaches

Shaun 21-01-2018 08:27 PM

Keep them if they've got a lot of writing inside them / have been personalised.

BigSister 21-01-2018 10:39 PM

Just keep special ones and kept all my 16/18/21 etc ones the rest I bin

smudgie 21-01-2018 10:59 PM

We have a big box of congratulations cards from when the kids were born.
I keep cards from hubby and the kids as well.
I saved the last birthday card and Xmas card from my dad as I knew he was near to death.

I've kept ones that are special. My 18th, 21st ones and other ones such as congratulations ones when I got my degree and stuff.

caprimint 21-01-2018 11:27 PM

I think I've got most of mine at home in the wardrobes, we used to cut out the picture on the front and use them as present labels though

Niamh. 22-01-2018 09:01 AM

I keep home made ones and personilised ones or if they have something nice written in them

Alf 22-01-2018 09:04 AM

Bin em

Crimson Dynamo 22-01-2018 09:13 AM

bin them apart from home made ones from the children over the years, they go in a memory box

Oliver_W 22-01-2018 09:15 PM

I use a wet sponge to dab out the handwriting, and then address them to people when it's their birthday

Livia 23-01-2018 10:06 AM

I keep special cards. Old Valentines, cards covered with xo's from my nieces when they were little. The rest go in the recycling.
