Endemol hires new creative director for BB19

Paul Osborne, who worked as a series editor, and later executive producer, between 2005 and 2008 is returning to the show as creative director.

Let's hope this is a good signing, as he was in charge during the show's best years.

Brilliantly.

Getting de ja vu all over again with Endemol putting the effort in when the show has been axed in order to ship it to other broadcasters rather than continually putting the effort in throughout the contract to make the best series they can and avoid it being axed in the first place.

Hopefully this means it will return to its old way.

Doubtful but here’s hoping!

Guaranteed some slag from Ex on the Beach wins a glitter cannon firing task on launch night and ends up nominating another slag from Ibiza Weekender for a Day 4 eviction

This isn't to try and save the show on Channel 5 at all it's about them trying to make the show appealing to other buyers later this year.

Oaker 24-01-2018 09:00 PM

Here for it :clap1:

Sure, maybe they are just salting the mine; doesn't mean something good won't come from it!

Dunno what made you think this at all, it sounds like great news that this person is coming back

Didn't they bring back some guy who worked on the C4 series for BB16? Look how that turned out.

Gstar 24-01-2018 10:55 PM

Can you elaborate on this? Who from C4 worked on BB16?

Denis O'Connor

Oh he worked on CBB7 and BB11.

No wonder it was shite.

Rob! 24-01-2018 11:04 PM

SOC to be announced as Story Producer next? :worry:

Rob! 24-01-2018 11:06 PM

Wow, he was there from series 1-7, including the Celeb series. THAT bodes well.

kingston 24-01-2018 11:37 PM

I want to be hopeful given the history Paul has with BB that there is a chance for 'some' improvement... That said I have to be realistic and say that my expectations are fairly low... The CBB series currently airing was off to a great start which was refreshing but it is still very much a Channel 5 series... So I wouldn't set the bar too high...

LinkedIn also says he's worked for Lime Pictures from 2014 to 2017... Lime Pictures produce TOWIE and Geordie Shore among other trashy reality shows...
