It’s ok to misgender India, but not a drag act???

Can’t believe my ears. ShaneJ venting because Ann misgendered him/ Courtney - but as Ann (who I hate!) said, Courtney is a character! Don’t recall many people being upset by India being misgendered. And she’s A WOMAN! So it’s not ok to misgender a drag performer, but understandable for domeone who’s trans?

pontyboi 28-01-2018 08:44 PM

Courtney is an act so there is no gender....Courtney has a cock.

Ann is just confused by all these new terms and a bit of a tit tbh.

Lilac hills 28-01-2018 08:45 PM

india was hated for reacting like she did

Yet Shane j reacts adversely and everyone in tibb ageees with him

Literally what

What i loved is Ann even separated both India & courtney and she said as clear as anything India is a trans woman but courtney is an drag act :joker:, straight to the point !!! :clap1: .

Shane J is so desperate to make Ann look bad ,he's showing his true colours and he's a spiteful bitch.

Cherie 29-01-2018 06:56 AM

Shane L asked him on entering the house and Shane J said he didn’t care, I don’t know how you can misgender an act, that seems a bit super sensitive to me, Courtney is a man dressed as a woman when all is said and done

Shane J is picking and choosing what offends him and what he's ok with , he's a daft arsehole . Funny it's rather pot kettle black situation when Malika hypocritically moaned about Ann :bored: .

If shane L called him Shane in drag he wouldn't care but because he dislikes Ann with passion he's decided to cry about this now pulling the typical victim card . i did a classic Ann eye roll when he said she "disrespected him" i was like WTf is he talking about .

Shane J rolled his eyes when Ann wouldn’t meditate, it must be catching

And he dismissed Shane L refusing to mediate and decided to just pick on Ann , like she has a giant target sticker on her back :bored: . Even Ashley reminded him that Shane L also sat out of meditation yet he still continued to roll his eyes and moan about Ann ,he's such bloody hypocrite.

He's such a patronising twat , it's ok for him to have his views and opinions but Ann not meditating bothers him?? . Why won't he stop pestering her, he's obsessed to the point where it's weird to watch and it's going into provoking someone /borderline bully tactic  .

LeatherTrumpet 29-01-2018 07:09 AM

shane has done a michelle visage and shamed his so called community

what a twat

...I hadn’t actually realised that when a drag is being assumed, that the gender should also be adopted as well as the correct term...well you live and learn, so that interesting...I don’t think I’ve ever referred to Shane J as a female, even when Courtney is assumed...I find it interesting thought that I’m sure Ann has referred to it all as a drag act/ entertainment...and yet, she’s also said that she likes Shane but she doesn’t Courtney...as if they’re two separate people, rather than the same person just doing their thing...

Oddly enough, one of the first conversations Shane had in the house was that he prefers she when he is Courtney, but he doesn't really mind either way. Hes unravelling surprisingly fast without Andrew mind...I really hope he snaps the **** out of the mindset he is in right now, though I do think he will win either way. People have picked their faves usually by this stage and will not budge on them at all no matter what

...yeah I might recall that actually in the early days now you’ve mentioned it...I guess it’s just that this might be the first time I’ve seen a drag being their drag off the stage as it were so much as Shane has assumed Courtney in the house..this has made me think about a vid I watched recently in a SD thread about correctly gendering and how important it is...but then the ‘opposing debate’ was that we don’t always know a gender or can actually just make errors without realising..(...it was talking about the fluidity of gender and the infinite possibilities etc..)..so obviously more complicated than this...so an ‘offence’ could be quite easy yet no offence could have been meant and no disrespect meant...(I hope that makes a little sense..)..

I think like his cbb "boyfriend" he is actually a woman hater

Nicky91 29-01-2018 08:49 AM

i didn't care about India ;) about that vile loudmouth

Robodog 29-01-2018 09:11 AM

It's in the name

Courtney ACT

Of course Courtney is an act, and not another person - there is only one of them!

That's why he chose that name.

It's a cheeky riff on the phrase 'caught in the act'

BUt still, that's exactly how Shane perceives and plays and has even NAMED Courtney.... as an 'Act'

in many ways its an insult to women

empire 29-01-2018 05:26 PM

but shane still has his meat an two veg, and I see courtney as a he not a she, because he still has his bits that means he is still a man in a dress, and the whole drag act belongs on the stage, not in a house 24/7, if a woman wears a mans suit, she is a woman in a mans suit, ann is right to say that courtney is a he, now people are saying these days that gender specific clothing belongs in the past, do people on this forum agree to get rid of gender specific clothing, yes or no, you see shane is very clever on doing something like that in the house.

i read that in India's voice :joker::joker:

I do find it a little pathetic mind that Ann will not use Courtneys name. I found it pathetic when India voted for Courtney in that talent show and wrote Shane J instead of Courtney...so I would be extremely hypocritical to find it ok with Ann.

I mean, its up to them I guess but it seems really really..petty.

But yes, of course Courtney is an act.

At the same time though, I find Shanes whining about it ridiculous given he said he was not concerned about people using Courtney/her really. That he preferred it, but he doesn't mind.

poppsywoppsy 29-01-2018 06:32 PM

Has Shane J got a split personality that he demands to be known as a woman when dressed in drag.

He takes it all far too seriously and quite frankly wants it all ways.

y.winter 29-01-2018 06:49 PM

I don't like Shane's hypocrisy when it comes to Courtney. He claimed throughout the series that Courtney should be referred as Courtney and nothing else but Courtney - yet he was sitting there on the sofa preaching to Malika at least three times that this is all a superficial act that he puts on and that underneath is Shane J like there always is.
I find it ridiculous that even when he was up for eviction it said "Shane J/Courtney", as if we're talking about a man suffering from a split personality disorder.

The guy is 35 years old, playing make-believe as if Courtney is a real person is ridiculous as it's ridiculous to expect people to play along with it. It's fine as an act, but that's where it should stay. A girl can dress as a princess, but she knows that it's just playing. People can celebrate Santa, but still understand that it's not real. A show is a show, reality is a reality.

empire 29-01-2018 07:43 PM

I think your right poppsywoppsy, he might have a split personality, that maybe the reason why so many guys broke up with him because they just couldn't hack it, when he was in his courtney act he was at times very obsessed with andrew, and when he was just shane he did not act like that with andrew, I think ann could see it for what it is and the viewers failed to see it, eddie izzard wears skirts and some female clothing but he says he is a man and its part of his style, now I'm a conservative guy but what eddle wears and what shane's drag act is, its harmless anyway, but there is just something about shane that doesn't meet the eye.
