Baffling

Jay. 28-01-2018 08:35 PM

well the lord jesus himself created meditation so therefore she is correct???

Yaki da 28-01-2018 08:37 PM

in Christianity any form of meditation is focused on Christ. The form of meditation they were trying to get them to do has nothing to do with Christ, obviously.

Underscore 28-01-2018 08:45 PM

Pathetic excuse

Shaun 28-01-2018 08:46 PM

I'd just find it boring tbf but the "religious grounds" was just nonsense since they're just different branches of ~spirituality~

fun sponge even with things that might actually help her relax for ****ing once

Kazanne 28-01-2018 08:50 PM

Ann has a funny walk so i would think she has a bad leg,I would think she has difficulty getting into some positions, cut her some slack

T* 28-01-2018 08:51 PM

she has a phobia of breathing :(

Yaki da 28-01-2018 08:52 PM

"Overstressed Americans are increasingly turning to various forms of Eastern meditation, particularly yoga, in search of relaxation and spirituality. Underlying these meditative practices, however, is a worldview in conflict with biblical spirituality—though many Christians are (unwisely) practicing yoga.

Many Eastern religions teach that the source of salvation is found within, and that the fundamental human problem is not sin against a holy God but ignorance of our true condition. These worldviews advocate meditation and "higher forms of consciousness" as a way to discover a secret inner divinity.

Yoga, deeply rooted in Hinduism, essentially means to be "yoked" with the divine. Yogic postures, breathing, and chanting were originally designed not to bring better physical health and well-being (Western marketing to the contrary), but a sense of oneness with Brahman—the Hindu word for the absolute being that pervades all things. This is pantheism (all is divine), not Christianity."

I'd refuse as it's BOLLOCKS

Why is everyone just attacking Ann? Shane L also refused to do it for pretty much the same reasons, yet no-one says anything about him.

His reasons were totally different

I just feel like she has a 'how can I be difficult' take on life.

Paula D 28-01-2018 09:57 PM

Trying to FORCE someone to meditate is stranger imo.

Me too....I don't see why you have to give a reason anyway. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

poppsywoppsy 28-01-2018 10:23 PM

I would hate it

Good for Ann and Shane

Yup. Sounds about right

She has missed out on a lot of fun in life, but that is her perogative, I actually admire her for sticking to her beliefs.
She has had just as full and probably happy life in her own way as the rest of us have in ours.

Cherie 28-01-2018 10:31 PM

I don’t think she wanted to do it, not sure by Shane L’s explanation was more valid than Ann’s

I think Shane L confused it with hypnotherapy

I see that the rights of the LGBT community is quite rightly protected by a host of people on here... while faith is still fair game. People of faith have the same right in law to practice their religion in this country as gay people have to love and marry who they choose.
