Turning Big Brother into a "one vote per person" system

Obviously this would never happen because it'd lose the producers a lot of money, but I'd find it interesting to trial one series and see how different the eviction / final results are if everyone is limited to just one vote, rather than the campaigns carried out by fans

AnnieK 31-01-2018 05:23 PM

Yeah that would be interesting. Like you say, would never happen but would be good to see figures...

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 31-01-2018 05:24 PM

Everyone has to go to their local polling station every couple of days with a ballot, obviously!

Teacosy-hat ladies standing in their community centres having discussions about how India should stay for the drama, rather than why they're voting Conservative

It's a good idea but they can't afford to take any risks with ratings so low at the moment.

I would love everyone to be up weekly though it could be disastrous or what if the public gets to nominate and show the housemates the noms? Would surely cause a lot of tension.

Nominations are the best bit - and it's what the game is all about :nono:

Pinoy Big Brother has implemented this a couple of times for evictions (and their finals too), and they've worked out.

But the housemates hardly ever nominate anymore we've had like 2 regular noms this series.

The nominations are also very fake and take hours with big brother making the housemates say harmful things for good tv.

Nominations are fake as **** and this year has been dominated by them with nom twists.

Every year, even the C4 days Big Brother has always been clear that they must have valid reasons. I know the time spent in the DR nominating isn't as quick as we see it on TV, I'm currently rewatching BB7 and BB has been constantly telling them they need to think of valid reasons - so they then say something more harsh. It's how it's always been.

Yeah you're just repeating what ive said.

Producers make them say things during nominations hence it being fake.

 I'd be up for doing that

Could be interesting. They would never do it though. I do wodner how the voting would go if there were not these campaigns of people voting 50+ times each

I find it so sad that people go out of their way to form these mummy style campaings to save their faves.

It has a very community centre knitting feel to it.

T* 31-01-2018 07:35 PM

would be really interesting as it would limit fans of say CBB celebs from another show and actually make a judgement more on personality but it could also have the opposite effect

Marsh. 31-01-2018 07:39 PM

It to expose the fact that only about 10 people are responsible for all the votes?

Jay. 31-01-2018 07:49 PM

i'd prefer app votes
i haven't voted via phone for about 10 years now

supertv247 31-01-2018 07:55 PM

I’m pretty sure this is how Love Island works. They only have voting on the app and each person only gets 3 votes I think. Obviously people can still campaign, download the app on multiple devices etc but it’s nowhere near as unlimited as phone votes

Imagine the flash votes :flutter:

Emma: Tonight is a flash vote!
-half the 900k viewers get in their cars and zoom to their nearest polling booth, only to arrive and find out the vote has been closed-

Vanessa is dragged into the back of a police car, kicking and screaming, protesting that she hasn't been turning up all day in various mustache disguises to vote for Courtney Act under different aliases
