Shane J: What IS his message?

He raises the subject of LGBT issues a lot.
But what is he saying about it exactly?
What is his actual point?

All i hear is how he has a message but he hasn't really said what that message is?
You know what i mean?

He doesn't say "I think x,y or z should happen" or
"What we need in society is more this or less that"
There doesn't seem to be any goals or plans, just him simply raising the subject of LGBT.

OK sure, the subject is raised: so what about it then?

His only angle of any substance seems to be when he is questioning Ann's views.

So he's confronted and challenged Ann directly.
The conversations between them were always open, honest, mature and friendly. He always seemed happy with the outcome, even complimenting Ann on her honesty!
He tells her clearly they can have different viewpoints and still get on fine. Agreeable from both sides. Shake hands. Job done, right?

So what's the problem?

Somehow he comes away from her, turns it all over in his mind and rather than talk with Ann again, instead he attacks her views behind her back with other HMs, like he is trying to turn them against her.

How is that a positive message?

So what is his aim exactly?
That Ann should change her views and see things his way?
If so - why isn't he talking about it with her?
Pulling her views apart with other HMs is not going to change her views if she is not even there to hear or discuss it!!

As for raising LGBT issues in the wider community or mainstream society - again what is his message? He hasn't spelled it out.

I can only imagine that he means LGBT people should be equally as accepted and represented as anyone else in society?
Bit patronising and outdated - i mean do most of us not think that way already?
I mean this is the UK in 2018!
Look at our biggest and most loved TV stars for example - how many can you name!
Stephen Fry, David Walliams, Alan Carr, Graham Norton, Claire Balding, Sandie Toksvig, Paul O'Grady - who's Lily Savage drag act was even prime time TV 20 years ago! etc etc
And that's without even looking at our best-loved mainstream music stars of the last 40 years! (George Michael, Elton John etc)

So yeah the UK mainstream is really gay-friendly. Like nowhere else on earth. Has been for decades. We just like nice, funny and talented people - gay or not.

So seeing as the mainstream and the majority of people in the UK already embrace LGBT people as part of our own shared ONE community - what is the message?
To convert every single 'non-believer'?
Sounds a bit like religious fanaticism!
Like the Spanish Inquisition or Christian Missionaries in Africa
"Think like me or be damned!"
There will always be minorities that think differently on ANY subject.
Can't make everyone think the same.

Will he not rest until Ann says:
'Oh Shane! I'm Sorry! I renounce ALL my religious views, Courtney is wonderful no matter how she dresses or acts, lets put on some Lady Gaga and do slut-drops together'

Does he expect her (and others like her) to agree with him 100%?
My way or the highway?
"I want you to respect and agree with ME, while at the same time i don't have to respect or agree with YOU"
Is that it?

So what is it all about? Really?

Like i said yesterday:

Is Shane using himself to in order to promote LGBT issues?
Or is he using LGBT issues in order to promote himself?

Answers on a postcard.

Good points and it’s the latter imo. He’s like a pagent girl he knows what will impress and gain traction with other people, regardless of whether he believes it or not. He has no quarrel with Ann but instead just wants to use her for his own narrative to appeal to the majority of the public and ultimately win. It’s quite tragic everyone has fallen for it but it’s only big brother ig

GoldHeart 02-02-2018 11:42 AM

"let's do slutdrops together" :joker: , even if Ann was younger she probably still wouldn't do that .

Even Wayne needed helping up after his dancing and jumping around as he's got a hip replacement :joker: .

But anyway yes I truly believe Shane J expects Ann to be apologetic and somehow turn into a huge LGBT fan and approve of everything Shane J/ Courtney does .

You can't force someone to have the same views as you ,if Ann went around the house calling everyone sinners and condeming Shane J and telling him to turn straight , people would find that Barbaric and rightly so .

So why is it ok for India & Shane J to hound and bitch away endlessly at anyone who doesn't agree with them to the point where it's uncomfortable to watch  .

Ann accepts them both yet it's still not good enough ,do they want Ann to wear the pride flag and go on marches with them and go clubbing and dye her hair rainbow coloured ?! .

That's exactly it Marches!! You've hit the nail on the head, he's like a pagent princess claiming that their aim is world peace when in fact they have no clue how you would go about that. It's simple virtue signalling.

So true

Why is her acceptance not enough?
She kisses, hugs them etc
She discusses anything they want to talk about, she listens intently and replies with respect and friendliness.
She clearly has no bad feeling towards them.

What more do they want?

How about taking a leaf out of HER book and accept HER the way she accepts THEM!

Not being funny but do you ever post anything related to the topic or do you just like to air your grievances 24/7.

how is my post not relevant to the topic? you said her message is acceptance, there isn't much acceptance for Ann's views only her own that is not acceptance that is intolerance in my book, anyway stick to the HMs please I am not the subject of this debate
