'Miranda' opinions?
I ****ing love this woman and show.
I've been re-watching the whole thing, and I love it  She does lack subtlety at times, but it's just SUCH FUN. One problem I have is that (and yes I know I'm taking this childish sitcom too seriously) is that some characters were ruined in the final series and subsequent specials. Stevie, Tilly and Miranda's mum become a bit too 'silly' when their charm in the early series was how much of a tit they made Miranda look. Also the whole Gary/Mike storyline is ****ing unrealistic, and makes me hate Gary... But objectively, this show is bloody funny and improves my life. |
One of my favourite shows of all time

LOVE it

LOVE her

Ugh the Gary drama in the final specials is so tedious. They went round in circles so many times with the Gary storyline from the middle of Series 2 onwards and they MUST drop it if/when it returns for Series 4.

It's one of the best comedies

iconic show

Gary was hot
|
It did what all shows do and made the characters way more extreme versions of their original selves as the series went on. Series 3 is unwatchable for me but 1 and 2 are fab.

Like yourself and Cal have said I adored 1/2 (must’ve watched both numerous times) but it lost it’s charm by S3. I was bored of the whole Gary scenario by then and the specials... don’t even get me started.

Penny is the best character though? Are we all in agreement?

Never really watched it, I have caught the odd bit of it, and it doesn't look like my cup of tea. Although I do like that she shows respect for the traditional sitcom.
There are exeptions, but I don't think women in general are that funny, particularly a show written by a woman. with a female dominant cast. Victoria Wood's "Dinnerladies" would be an exeption and I like Derry Girls too. I might get around to giving it a chance one day. |

I haven't seen it but I watched her stand up DVD and it was great, I was crying with laughter at some of it.

All four of the chicks are fab though. Why did Miranda, her mum, Stevie and Tilly become like a posse in Series 3? SOme of Hart's decisions just don't make sense. Part of Tilly's charm was her popping into Miranda's life every so often and judging tf outta her, and Miranda being triggered by her school memories. |
Not my cup of tea at all, I have to turn the TV over every time the show/Miranda herself comes on. Annoying, overly-posh and daft.

The montages in this finale are unnecessary.

The counselling episode is a masterpiece.
|
Those finales were relatively awful, but my eyes did get wet at Miranda's final goodbye to the viewers :(
|
Love this show. Netflix has all three series.

Also Clive’s actor was clearly not comfortable in the role in the slightest.
