To Save Money
KFC Management switched delivery to CHEAPER DHL
who found they could not keep the delivery's up to date.

I don;t see why this is news tbh.

When I worked in burger king it was almost a monthly occurrence that we ran out of burgers :umm2:

I have been to a few KFCs too where they have apparently ran out of chicken. Not the 'wait 15 mins for more to be cooked' run out, but actually ran out and are only selling chips

Vicky. 19-02-2018 02:59 PM

Ah, Its apparently ALL KFCS that are closing? Not just one branch being crap? Thats a bit different

There is chicken for KFC but it's down to another company not delivering it to the shop.

Probably down to some bloke with no ear lobes.

It wont be his fault it will be his employer oppressing him and his freedom of expression. Have they no respect of religion?

I actually prefer it to McDonald's the fillet tower burger is amazing. That said it depends what kfc you go to, my local one is nice and clean and the food always tastes good but I went to one in northwich recently the whole building was absolutely filthy and the food was awful. I'd say McDonald's is more consistent nationwide

bots 21-02-2018 12:28 PM

I love my kfc, consistently over decades it's been the winner for me. I do have to agree though that its standards of service seem to lag behind the other fast food chains

Maru 21-02-2018 07:45 PM

This was trending on CNN in the US, so fake news confirmed...?

But really, can you have real news inside fake news? What if it's 10% real news, but 90% fake? Doesn't most Fast food work this way? Maybe we should only judge the final product... kinda like all fast food

I think like Vicky said, this is maybe a common occurrence, though usually isolated? I have been to fast food joints where I am told they are out of things that restrict the menu. So it's not like there's chicken just basically magically appears to be eaten. It has to be delivered...

We've had an egg shortage here, not sure if it was an international thing. But I didn't really hear about it in the news, only noticed there was signage about a rise in food prices, especially pre-prepared food, to accommodate...

When I worked logistics, we had all the carriers sending us packages, as well DHL. Usually DHL ships were direct from the supplier itself, not simply distribution... so it may be that some smaller companies, even some companies you would not consider to be "small" because of how well known they are, they do this to maintain cost efficiency...
