Is the ever too much Reality Television on TV?
I think there is. At least in my country, where i think basically 60-70 % (probably more) is different kinds of reality television (mostly repeats, some new ones). It´s got to the point that i don´t watch much of my country´s television, cause there is too much reality tv there. Like it´s every day, Wanna be a Life guard, Drop out, Paradise Hotel whatever, Bridezillas, 4 Weddings, so many Storage Hunters etc. I really want to see more of scripted dramas, comedy, scifi etc. on TV rather than endless supply of reality tv.
To clarify i mainly mean the non-competition based reality tv shows. |
Opinions?

I kinda agree tbh

Depends on the channel...
ITV2 are probably the worst with Bromans, Survival of the Fittest etc which are all trashy LI knockoffs. They should have more variety like bringing Utopia back or bringing Survivor to the UK. |
ITV2 always have a bloody reality show and they're all the same
|
Don't get me started on the amount of trashy dating shows too!

Yes, but only because it seems to be going the opposite direction market-wise... less people subscribing to cable since that is what most of our TV is these days. More people signing up for dramas on the streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon or subscription packages like HBO...
I personally only have a local TV package and HBO and a DVR box for football. My cable box is actually sitting in a closet right now and is going to be there for a little while longer until I have my husband's help to move the cable line... other than that, I watch Youtube and Amazon firestick for most of my entertainment needs or just login websites and the like with my Comcast logic and stream shows through ABC, etc. |

I think reality TV is a dying format at this point.
Everything has lost its appeal and the novelty wore off years ago. Big Brother, X Factor, I'm A Celebrity, even shows like TOWIE, MIC and GS are way past their prime. Give it another two years and LI and whatever else is relevant now will follow suit. It was a novel concept 15-20 years ago, but everything has been done since that it's no longer groundbreaking. |
There's too much bloody Corrie!

Yep, literally bored to death of it now.

if you watch this stuff and think its reality then you may not be in reality. watch what you like and the other stuff turn off - they go by viewing numbers and the more watch the more borefeast shows we have to endure.
g2g watching my only way is deadex :joker: |
if they’re not ****ty (so basically not anything made in the UK except maybe LI) they really can be guilty pleasures
anything on VH1 and Bravo :flutter: |
..I still love reality TV eeek, it’s my guilty pleasure....although I haven’t followed much over the last year but I do still like it and still find it interesting in terms of the interactions when placed in specific places and situations etc...I think what it lacks though is live feed, rather than feel ‘staged’...so maybe it isn’t ‘reality’ as such anymore...
