6 people walk out on Piers and Jim Davidson Life Stories

Cant wait for this one, should be a cracker

  • The comedian sparked "outrage" during filming on the ITV series, causing six audience members to leave
  • Jim was discussing his old stage act Chalky, a West Indian character, when he made the comments
  • In 2014, he was criticised by anti-racism campaigners after he described his old stand-up routines as 'cartoon racism'
  • Jim was previously axed from Hell's Kitchen in 2007 after making homophobic comments in which he branded gay men 'shirtlifters'

According to the Daily Star, the 64-year-old's appearance on the ITV series caused members of the audience to walk out mid interview as he discussed his stage act from yesteryear, a West Indian character called Chalky.

Discussing Jim's infamous character, presenter Piers commented that his act would be deemed racist if performed today.

However the remark did little to deter the comedian from discussing the character which reportedly caused six members of the audience to stand up and leave the studio.

He said: 'Have you noticed black guys now don't like that? West Indian. I don't know where that accent comes from.

That. I find funny. The way other people talk. I don't know what black people think. I have not met them all yet.

Adding: 'When I did that Chalky stuff it was about an accent. The only reason he was black was because I could do the accent.'

I loathe Jim Davidson, always have.

Morgan. 09-03-2018 04:15 PM

I'd never have walked in in the first place with those pricks sharing a stage.

They should've known what they were in for so the audience are dumb

CBB legend

80s reject, he needs to be put in a museum with the rest of the relics, horrible unfunny little man. Why he still gets airtime is beyond me.

Withano 09-03-2018 04:56 PM

He can be offensive if he wants, and people can leave if they want

Two pigs

LaLaLand 09-03-2018 06:27 PM

Well they were obviously going to bring up Chalky, one of his most known acts.

Idiot audience members.

Pisses me off that it usually ends up with him being dragged over the coals..considering his work he does for our forces.

Pity news dont do happy stories anymore...cause that side of jim is far more newsworthy.

Can't stand him. Though the be fair, I have more of a problem with the fact that he's an angry, violent alcoholic than I do with his "Oh so funny" casual racism.

Hadn't he kicked the booze by the time he appeared on CBB

Jordan. 09-03-2018 07:43 PM

A shockingly low statistic

Gstar 09-03-2018 07:44 PM

Did they talk about CBB

Allegedly, though he didn't really look like it. Either way, that only really matters if you believe that being drunk / having an alcohol problem is an excuse for being abusive and slapping people around... Which I personally don't. It's a cop-out. If someone is capable of those actions with a drink in them, then they are simply capable of them full stop.
