There are new fantasy elements, and old ones are expanded upon; though there are some parts that Tumblr might call "problematic", and there's a lot of bleakness, it's still intriguing and exciting.

Didn't the movie patronisingly change his name to Ragnar because they thought his name was too similar to Iorek? :joker:

I think it did :joker: to be fair the animated version of Lord of the Rings changed Saruman to Aruman, so he wouldn't be confused with Sauron. But that makes more sense, as they are both talked about more than to, and when someone's being referred to with a similar name, I guess it could be easier to get confused. Whereas Iorek and Iofur are pretty much only namechecked once we've met them, so heyho

Apparently S1 and S2 shot either back to back,or near as dammit, so the difference between airtimes in the kids' age wouldn't be too noticeable. I don't know when they're doing S3 but the buzz is it'll be more than 8 episodes!
