Vacancy or The Strangers

Two similar films in which a couple are been terrorised by psychos but which do you prefer?

Love both but the Strangers scared the hell out of me more.

I haven't watched either I'm afraid

If you have any free time I suggest you watch them back to back and decide which is better. Both are good but I think you will be more spooked by the Strangers. One of the scariest, creepiest films I’ve ever watched in my life.

oh actually I did see Vacancy, it's pretty good, I think Strangers might be too creepy for me though, those kind of films really make me uneasy

Kazanne 25-03-2018 05:32 PM

The Strangers is really creepy and horrifying.

Dont be afraid, they're only films

Withano 25-03-2018 05:37 PM

I rated Vacancy 8/10, and The Strangers 9/10... but I dont actually remember either of them off the top of my head.

Isn't the Strangers 2 coming out this year?

Amy Jade 25-03-2018 05:41 PM

Vacancy >>>

The Strangers is ok but I find it very overrated and neither characters were likeable enough and I think it relies on jump scares a lot plus the killers motive was pretty lame. Just because, oh ok...?

Wheras I adore Vacancy, the scene when the husband finds the snuff tapes is genuinely horrifying, imagine the panic you would feel finding a VHS of people being butchered in the very hotel room you're sitting in. I also think the motive was pretty good and the villains creepy as in they're just normal guys.

It is already on kodi, watched it the other night. Christina Hendricks is criminally underused and the main actress is an annoying twat.

Babayaro. 25-03-2018 05:58 PM

I haven't seen either in ages but I remember enjoying Vacancy more. I should watch them again soon, though.

I suggest you watch them both back to back and give me your opinion.

:clap1:

I watched both for the first time about a year ago and I found The Strangers quite boring tbh. Vacancy, on the other hand, had me on the edge of my seat throughout.

JerseyWins 25-03-2018 06:51 PM

Vacancy was ok but I didn't think it was that great. And I don't think I've ever seen The Strangers but it rings a bell it might be a movie I was planning to watch or something.

It’s the film with a couple fighting for survival against 3 masked psychopaths

Yeah I find The Strangers pretty boring. There were a few nice scenes and Liv Tyler carried it well but it was just jump scares really and I found it quite annoying how the killers seemed to know the ins and outs of the house they apparently picked at random.

Mystic Mock 29-03-2018 02:36 PM

The Strangers had the slow start up with that awkward sex scene to top it off imo so I've voted for Vacancy.

Josy 07-04-2018 12:33 PM

Strangers creeped me out more so that

Theres a similar one I think its called Youre Next? But the entire plot was obvious from the get go.

Jake. 07-04-2018 01:02 PM

Strangers really wasn’t that good. Vacancy was terrific.

Moviefan 11-06-2018 08:01 PM

Vacancy is easily, great movie

I re-watch the strangers again a two weeks ago
I didn't like the frist time, felt the same again

Marsh. 11-06-2018 08:09 PM

Not normally into these types of movies, but strangely enjoyed the uneasiness of the Strangers, even if it got silly by the end.

Nancy. 12-06-2018 08:39 AM

Right now i'm going to say The Strangers. I can't remember much about Vacancy, so i'm going to have to rewatch it. I remember enjoying it at the time though.

Strictly Jake 12-06-2018 09:42 AM

I quite liked both. It's the kind of horror film I enjoy. There isn't many films like it now though nearly every horror film is paranormal and I refuse to watch those films

But yeah what was the other film like this called where this family go on a holiday and another family start to stalk them and try and become them I think a dog gets killed too

Edit: looked it up it was called in their skin it's a good one also identity was a bit creepy too and had a great twist

I kind of enjoyed hostel too but it's a bit too much at some points

My favourite horror franchise is wrong turn!
