No and yes.
I wouldn't invest, but my daughter has.
A friend of hers makes a good living out of it.
He invested a couple of grand for her to start her off, gone down a bit lately mind.

No. It is possible to make spectacular gains but the losses that are possible can be just as spectacular. There are safer speculative investment choices - in my opinion.
