Why? It's good Friday and Easter Monday, I never heard of Maudy Thursday

Calderyon 30-03-2018 09:27 AM

It is different in Finnish.

I guess a translation closer to the real thing would be Agony Thursday or Thursday of Suffering.

Real names are Palmusunnuntai, Kiirastorstai, Pitkäperjantai, Lankalauantai and Pääsiäinen.

Maundy money is given by the Queen on Holy Thursday, the day of the last supper and the start of Easter.
Always given to pensioners nowadays, 2little purses, red and white.
91p in one purse to represent the age of the monarch, and then an undisclosed sum in the other.
