BIG BRO 3-IN-A-BED SENSATION

BIG Brother bosses will serve up a steamy treat for fans by forcing contestants to share a bed.

The housemates will also be going round in circles this series because the new-look house has four secret rotating rooms.

There are so few beds in the telly house that at least three will have to share when the Channel 4 show kicks off on May 30.

It means things could get streamy, with babes - like last year's hotties Imogen Thomas and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, pictured - forced to bunk up.

But if they fancy a bit of privacy, they could try one of the rotating rooms. The floor of each one turns through 180 degrees, transforming the space.

And the secret rooms could come in handy if any randy housemates fancy asking: “Did the earth move for you?”

Executive producer Rebecca De Young teased last night: “The house will have some new, quirky surprises.”

And a show insider revealed: “It will be like one of the haunted mansions you see in the cartoon Scooby Doo.

“One minute you’re standing in a room, then the floor moves beneath you and you spin round to the other side of the wall. It’s going to be great fun.

“Housemates will be spinning off for all sorts of frolics, while the rest will think they’ve vanished.

“We can do whatever we want with these rotating rooms. The house can change from a palace to a prison, or a bathroom to a boudoir, in minutes.”

The actual living space in this year’s house at Elstree, Herts, is the smallest ever, thanks to a host of secret rooms.

Because of the lack of space, it has been rumoured that only nine contestants will enter on launch night, with others appearing a few days later.

The whole house also has a topsy-turvy feel, with curtains and blinds on the outside of the windows.

Contestants will have to work as a team if they want to cook a meal, because the kitchen has been spread out across the house.

The oven is in the bedroom, the fridge and freezer in the garden and the sink in the lounge. The hob is the only thing actually in the kitchen itself.

In an evil twist, bosses have locked the kettle and toaster in a cupboard and the housemates will only be allowed to use them when Big Brother says so.

And they will have to lose their inhibitions if they want a bath ... because the tub is in the middle of the lounge.

Hopefully this also applied to the 10-chairs-in-the-dining-room thing because it would be like going back to 2000 with only ten housemates!!!

BB Surreality (BB House Articles)

BB: SURREALITY

BIG Brother bosses have made a right meal of the house for this summer's show.

Cooking food will mean housemates using three different rooms.

And if they want a hot soak afterwards, they will have to take a bath in the living room.

Bosses yesterday released the first official pictures of what they call the "surreality house".

A spokesman said: "Just cooking a meal may take team work. The fridge freezer is in the garden, the sink is on one side of the living area and the hotplate is opposite. The oven is in the bedroom."

The kettle and toaster are locked away and can only be used at Big Brother's discretion.

A 70s-style phone is prompting speculation that housemates may be able to make calls if they are successful in tasks.

For the first time, the diary room will have a lit corridor to indicate if the room is in use by changing colour from red to green.

BB house designer Patrick Watson said: "It has taken 8,000 man hours to construct the house for this summer."

Housemates will be encouraged to be environmentally friendly by recycling and collecting rain water for the garden.

Viewers with an eye for pop culture will notice Big Brother's homage to Brit artist Damien Hirst - a split rubber chicken suspended in clear boxes.

The white living room floor has a target inspired by Andy Warhol's work which is thought to be part of the games planned for the housemates.

A swimming pool that is half in and half outside the house will feature for the first time.

BB host Davina McCall said bosses will give contestants a grilling before the show starts next Wednesday on Channel 4 - in a bid to stop them quitting early.

The last series was plagued by housemates walking out. Some had unrealistic ideas of finding fame after the show.

Davina, 39, said: "When they have the pre-talks, they are going to be categorically lectured that the chances of them becoming famous are almost zero."

First Big Brother house pictures

Here is the first glimpse of the new Big Brother house - where nothing is quite as it should be...

The bathtub has been placed in the middle of the living room and surrounded by multi-coloured light panels - and the fridge is built into a wall at the far end of the garden.

Housemates hoping for a cuppa will be in for a shock too - the kettle and toaster have been locked away in a see-through cabinet and only Big Brother will decide when to open it.

But there's more to the house than meets the eye.

A source said: "What you see here isn't necessarily what you get. Let's just say there are secret hidey holes and different areas that aren't immediately apparent."

Which means there could be a hidden room - or a second house altogether.

The weird layout provides tantalising clues that Big Brother has some shocks in store when series eight of the Channel 4 show kicks off on May 30.

A 70s-style phone sits by the sink - who exactly will be calling, and does the retro design have any significance?

There is a closed blind on the outside of the living room window - will someone be spying on the housemates?

One half of the living area is raspberry pink and the other half is baby blue, and the 'kitchen' consists of a sink on one side of the living area while there is a hotplate opposite - but where is the cooker?

THE new Big Brother house will be the steamiest yet — with an outdoor pool and a bath in the LOUNGE.

It’s had a hi-tech revamp for the eighth series, with the bath surrounded by coloured lights. A source said: “It’s like bathing in a disco.”

Topsy-turvy house for Big Brother

The design of this year's Big Brother compound has been revealed, and nothing is quite as it should be.

Housemates will find their bath is in the living room, their fridge in the garden and an oven-free kitchen.

Big Brother has also locked away the kettle and toaster - and will only release them when it sees fit.

Producers promised "quirky surprises" when the new series starts on 30 May, but refused to say whether the house would be subject to the smoking ban.

"Details of the production are a closely-guarded secret before the programme goes to air," said executive producer Rebecca De Young.

She said the smoking ban was "an issue we take seriously and one that will be addressed during the course of the series".

Pickled chicken

The ban, which outlaws smoking in all indoor public places, comes into effect in England on 1 July, four weeks into the programme's run.

It took 8,000 man hours to build this year's Big Brother house at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire.

Designers have thrown in some arty references - in a tribute to Damien Hirst's pickled shark, there is a rubber chicken split in half and suspended in clear boxes.

A Warhol-inspired target is also painted on the floor.

There have been hints that there is more to the structure than meets the eye - with secret rooms and a second house thought to be likely additions as the reality show progresses.

House designer Patrick Watson said: "This year we have gone for a cleaner, more adult look, using more textures and colours to brand each area."

Changes

Big Brother continues to be one of Channel 4's most important programmes, with 8.2m viewers tuning in to see musician Pete Bennett win last year's seventh series.

But the show has seen some changes since Celebrity Big Brother's racism row earlier this year, involving Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and former Big Brother contestant Jade Goody.

Sponsor Carphone Warehouse pulled out, and has been replaced by cable company Virgin Media.

Comedian Russell Brand has left the spin-off show Big Brother's Big Mouth. His successor is yet to be announced.

And this year's final will not be shown live, because the 2006 contestants broke rules on swearing before the watershed.
