Why risk rocking the boat with Russia over conflicts in the Middle East?

We're involved in that conflict. You have to risk rocking the boat when children are being hit with chemical weapons and Assad and Putin are lying about it. Just like Putin lied about the Salisbury attack.

Twelve members of the UN Security Council called for an investigation into the use of chemical weapons in Syria. All agreed, except Russia, who vetoed it. The UK's Permanent Representative to the UN has said that by vetoing this, Russia has crossed the line in the international order.

Russia needs to be confronted, and it is being confronted.

The Syrian planes
are being moved into the Russian base in Syria,
So by time a Missile Attack goes down
what the feck will it Hit?

Also
THE PM is not
calling Parliament back.
It returns officially on monday
so a attack would be before then.

France Macron Leader is with the Trump attack.

Back in 2013 the the PM Cameron
wanted to bomb the Syria leader
as it was a Bigger Chemical attack , then.
The New Labour Leader Miliband - Blocked it, the Fool
The USA then also gave gave up.

Donald Trump’ll be nice and safe in his underground bunker eating chips ‘n’ dips getting his nob sucked while we’re all getting vapourised.

Part of me wonders if it's to distract from the Russia investigation or to toughen his image. I wouldn't normally think that way, but he is fairly obsessed with his image... so I wonder if it's just words.

I wouldn't necessarily mind something being done about Syria/Russia though.

Tom4784 11-04-2018 12:47 PM

Can you remember when people called Hillary, Killary, and said that Trump wasn't interested in war?

bots 11-04-2018 12:47 PM

We in the west have a duty to respond to any use of chemical weapons. We want support when it happens to us, so we must equally do all we can to prevent it's use elsewhere. Chemical weapons usage is not a new thing in Syria, they were told about it before. It's not like they didn't know the consequences. Trump may not have the correct motives for his actions, he is right none the less.

Yes

I don't know enough about the politics between US<->Russia<->Syria to know what the best approach would be... but if we're already there, we're already involved and we can do something to help them... we should continue to I think.

Northern Monkey 11-04-2018 12:53 PM

I been making threads about this for years.I knew this shiz would happen.Whoever the Preso was.It was guaranteed.

Tbf Obama turned a new leaf when he got into office in terms of his stance on military action. He was very much courting the anti-war crowd during his first campaign.

I think that's pretty common actually. Presidents always talk about what we shouldn't be doing with our foreign policy... but once they're in office, I think they meet with advisers or they get different picture of things given they have far better access to intelligence and information than what the public has... so it's possible that that could've change their minds.

Northern Monkey 11-04-2018 01:05 PM

Lets hope Russia doesn’t decide to lob a few of those new hypersonic missiles our way that they created to counter Obamas missile defence systems all over the eastern border and Pacific

Obama carried out more drone strikes in his first year than Bush did ever.

Russia
claims it will shoot down any big USA Missiles.
Thats from last night

Twosugars 11-04-2018 01:15 PM

you could argue the merits of intervention in syria back then or now both ways
some don't believe the narrative that assad and russia would risk a chemical attack when they're actually winning the civil war. there are plenty of other actors involved who could do that, but that's neither here nor there as it can't be proved atm

I'd love for russia to get tought a lesson, but any military confrontation between us-russia has a potential to cause wider conflict. especially with putin and trump in charge.

Just hope Russia doesn’t airstrike the destroyer that’s launching these “smart” missiles
