maybe in their natural environment but not in the UK and they do not support much in the way of wildlife

I live in an apartment though I have a huge outdoor balcony, and I have some green plants growing around, though no harvest is grown...

Just a pear tree we've only got a small green bit now, most of it is wood or pebbles.
