I know DM isn't popular here but basically this poor woman works in an off licence. On her way home after locking up this thug batters her over the head with a plank of wood filled with nails several times and leaves her in a pool of blood while he robs her place of work. The judge ordered him to pay her £20 'victim surcharge' and 36 hours upaid work.

The justice system in this country is an absoloute joke.

true, omg how cruel some youth can be these days

i look at crimewatch holland on the telly, and most of the crimes are teens against elderly

Yes Jail the Evil Teen

LaLaLand 24-04-2018 05:20 PM

Absolutely disgusting. Joke of a country in terms of laws.

Maru 24-04-2018 07:10 PM

Thankfully we can vote ours off the bench here since they're locally elected officials for ridiculous sentences like this...

Scum.

Write to your local MP with your concerns of the justice system. We are the masters, they are our servants.

So someone could have faced jail for teaching a dog to lift its paw up, but someone like this gets a poxy fine and a bit of litter picking? Ridiculous.

Sad state of affairs indeed. Besides the actual injuries that poor woman received, there's going to be even worse psychological damage, she's going to be terrified to be anywhere on her own after this.

sounds a disgusting and a ridiculous sentence.

...I hope there will be a review of the fine for this...I don’t know what the criteria is for reviews.../...whether it be possible for it to apply here or no...I guess because of his age being 14yrs...the fine would have taken a parent’s income into it...and that might be a very low income ...or an income received on benefits only...?...the point of it though also must be for a young person to release consequences ...for hopes of mindsets changing in future lives of those who would do these things...and there is no ‘consequence’ set in a sentencing which has been given ....in perspective to the crime committed and the lives he has changed in what he did...

The punishment is quite soft considering what he did to her.

No wonder people get angry about our justice system sometimes.

I was reading about a case this morning about a young woman who was raped tortured and burned to death by two men. The men met while they were both in prison for murdering others in the late 90s and we're let loose again in 2012. Is that what a life is worth now, about 14 years?

Kizzy 25-04-2018 03:51 PM

As I've said I don't agree with vigilante justice... but if I were that persons son or daughter I would have to fight every fibre of my being not to retaliate as this is NOT justice.

Hopefully those two men never get let out again.
