Spooky story here...

We moved into our house over twenty years ago, when I was like 5, and it was a bit unloved. An elderly woman had lived here and the garden was so overgrown, so, we all took a few days to clear everything and dig over the soil.

Anyway, my Dad found the blade bit of an axe under the soil. We didn't think anything of it at all, could have just been a broken tool for years before.

THEN we hear that back in the early 50's, an elderly man and his son lived here. His son had been serving out in Burma or somewhere and had shell shock/PTSD. Anyway, in those days it pretty much was dismissed/not talked about, even after he practically begged the Doctor for help they apparently just said he'll come alright. Anyway long story short, PTSD worsened and one night the son went into a rage and BLUDGEONED his Dad to death at the bottom of my stairs............... With an axe.

I honestly can't remember I was so little, will have to ask him.

It came up in a conversation in the pub the other day weirdly, lady who lives up the street (and remembers the incident) says she remembers all of the police and stuff and said she'd never mentioned it before incase I didn't know about it and didin't wanna freak me out ha. Spooky.

My first dog was a proper digger and kept bringing bones in duh! it took me ages to realised he digging up someone elses dogs bones.

My daughter also got her hands on a metal detector and went over the garden and we all got excited when it beeped - turned out it was a very old penknife.

Silverware... which came in handy recently actually... I've been using the fork I found to pry open paint cans in my woodshop and other random cr*p... the spoon I haven't used yet, but I'm sure it'll come in handy
