And yet they don't bat an eye over the Chinese leader who recently made himself president for life. Dont want to get their fingers covered in chemicals when Putin and Bashad use them on the public. Oh dearie me we don't want to get involved in any of that. Or Mugabe when he was in power. People and priorities.

My birthday is the same week, I hope he brings cake!

How would you know what people 'bat eyes' over?...

When you witness a western superpower behaving like a autocratic tyrant such as those you mention, how are you meant to react?

Oversimplification.

The US is basically our closest ally, if it's going in a direction we don't like then we are more than entitled to voice our disapproval.

I don't like this attitude of essentially degrading people's rights to protest through deflection.

Another case of oversimplification to suit an agenda.

Most rioters are people who just use the situation to cause chaos and get their hands on some stolen goods. They rarely give a **** about the protest but it won't stop people from grouping them in with the actual protesters because they want a reason to oppose it.

bots 24-06-2018 12:08 PM

up till recently i would have moaned if there had been loud demonstrations against trump, but not now, the louder the better

GiRTh 24-06-2018 12:08 PM

This all depends on no one saying anything he objects too. Would love it if Sadiq Khan started a twitter war and thus Donnie cancelled. I hope Khan does it TBH

That of course works both ways.

Would an "autocratic tyrant" have faced multiple defeats from/made several concessions to the opposing party?

It is very early days, Rome wasn't built in one, and Trump wont destroy democracy in one either.
