I wish they would bring back open auditions at venues

That chair would be good for the Diary Room

Open auditions are good for publisity and to trick the public into thinking that they have a chance of being a house mate but the promlem with open auditions are that soo many people apply that the migiriry of them won't get a proper or fair audition... They will just have to stand in a very long queue then be asked to say three things about themselves to a joinior producer who will most likely be younger than you and when only 3 or 4 of you pass out of the 8 in your group you will feel horrible because they were seen as being more interesting than you seemed.. ... You will then feel like the whole thing was just a waist of time... Half the people in the open auditions will be judged by one person and will feel horrible when they are not picked...

I think open auditions are emoral and senseless for the joinior producers might not like you but the head producers might like you... How can anyone even know you in only 2 minutes...

For that reason it's far better auditioning online that way the people that don't make it to the top 500 don't feel suicidal or useless when they don't even pass the first stage.... If you don't get through you can say it's because they did not meet you face to face. If though you meet a low grade producer face to face you just feel like they've done there job really bably for not selecting you.. Then you start to hate the show completely.

I still hate Big brother for how I felt when that b*tch told me to give up because I had applied two other times yet still did not make it..

Hopefully this means there are no recruits or z listers but we all thought that was the case last year with ‘the United Kingdom of Big Brother’ and we were all proven wrong so I won’t hold my breath this time.

I think there’ll be new tasks

Had you gone to open auditions, or did you apply online and then get invited?

three were open auditions 2009, 2010, 2011

one was an invitation only one... (2012 or 2013) but i don't think they ever called me, I really cant remember.. I think i just got an email saying they liked my video and wanted me to come to addition... I got my hopes up thinking that it was reserved for only a few people... but there were hundreds there so it did not feel personal ... because of that I would advises no one to get their hopes up until they get into a second day of auditions (after the diary room stage) I know some lasted two days in a row but that was only because they did not have time to finish every audition in the same day... I've never got to the next stage... few do...

I know though that additions have changed... they use to do a much longer set of auditions where potentials spend a few days in the house first, but the budget has dropped now though so they don't trail auditionees as much... I think they just select them more randomly now...

With the budget cuts it probably will be.

The entire "house" is gonna be in one big room with all the walls painted green, which they'll edit to look like they're in a house.

Don't give them any ideas...:fist:

I’ve just realised that this time last year, all the housemates were chosen as just 2 weeks from now the teaser trailer was released with hints and quotes from them.

Right now, they’re not even half way through auditions yet

I’m starting to be convinced that it’s launching later this year, maybe the first week of July instead of June.

I've been saying this for ages but everyone keeps talking about a June launch  The application even says you just be 18 by 31st July so I really don't see how they would do it in June

Only here for a late Summer launch if Summer CBB is axed

31st July seems toooo late though, but if it were the start of July that could be a clause for late entrants

I say too late, because airing 50+ days from the end of July then CBB just doesn’t work considering the house lease literally ends in September

Axe summer CBB and have a decent 60-day series for goodness’ sake!

The Celeb series have generally rated much higher than the civilian series and are generally more interesting... They'd be better off keeping both celeb series and just extending them by a week or two than they are keeping or extending the civilian series...

2 CBB's a year just wears everyone out though, especially when if merged into 1 per year then we could have better casts (taking the bigger nemaes from both series and combining them) as well as a longer civilian series to take a step to bringing the show to its roots.

And when this year is about making it marketable to othe channels, no channel wants the burden of booking 32+ Celebrities a year when booking 16ish is much cheaper and more efficient.

Quite. If they take C5's half price offer they just won't be able to afford the calibre of celebs they used to spread over 2 series a year. Civilians are bargain basement competitors and frequently provide better entertainment. And ratings for the civilian show have been hit by there being a summer CBB as well - it's a lot of commitment for viewers to spend the summer watching both shows.

I think the civilian series is more fatiguing to watch TBH... Also CBB has never been about high profile celebs... CBB on average rates much higher than any of the civilian series do... It only makes sense if they are trying to save money to focus on what's working rather than trying to fix something that they may or may not be able to fix...
