BIG BROTHER housemates will be forced to bunk up four to a bed in a bid to hot up the ratings with SEX, SEX, SEX.

The new bedroom has two beds made for four, one to sleep three, one double and just one single.

A hidden room next to the bedroom will enable chosen housemates to spy on their unsuspecting friends and enemies.

And there will also be secret “love rooms” on the site – with swimming pools, luxury beds and gardens – where lovers can have interrupted space for foreplay and passion. Our Big Bro insider confided: “Producers want this series to be lighthearted, fun and – most of all – sexy.

“The way the bedroom has been designed this year means that, if housemates want to get up to anything under the duvet, they will probably have to do it while sharing with someone else.

“Housemates have got hot and sweaty under the sheets before. But it has always just been between two contestants. With more in the bed, who knows what could happen? And, if any hanky-panky goes on, everyone is going to know about it.”

The bedroom could be literally hotter this series, too – because that’s where the cooking ovens will be.

Some fears have been expressed that this could pose a danger near where people sleep.

But Channel 4 insist that “rigorous” safety checks are always carried out.

Many rooms have been designed so they can easily be changed and remodelled throughout the 14 weeks of the reality contest.

“They could double as a party room with disco lights,” the insider revealed.

“They could also house new arrivals until they are ready to join the main building.”

In a further twist, we can exclusively reveal that a telephone has been placed in the BB house for the first time.

And one has also been installed at the house used by Australia’s version of the show. Although BB rules stipulate that housemates are not allowed communication with the outside world, it is believed contestants from both shows will be able to call each other.

The move fuels speculation that an unsuspecting housemate might be sent Down Under – just as former winner Cameron Stout disappeared from the diary room and later turned up on the South Africa show.

Meanwhile, with just three days to go before BB8 kicks off on Wednesday, the new contestants have been put under strict, 24-hour guard – in France.

In an attempt to keep the 14 wannabes’ identities top secret, they have been at mystery locations in Normandy for two weeks.

TVs, radios, phones, newspapers and magazines are all banned. The only contact they are allowed is with a BB chaperone – who is not allowed to leave their side.

Our source said: “Producers are taking the whole secrecy thing more seriously than ever. They are running a military-style operation.

“The chaperones have been ordered to stick to the housemates like glue. They are not even allowed to go to the toilet on their own.”

BB bosses already know what roles they want the contestants to play in front of the cameras and will coach them just hours before they enter the house.

The insider added: “Producers have already decided from audition tapes what personality they want each contestant to have.

“They will get one final prep talk, then it’s on with the show.”
